SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
We are taking applications for Camp counselors.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have 3 large cabins that hold a maximum of 50 campers in each cabin. The cabins at Camp are large, climate controlled, and wheelchair accessible. Spaces in the medical cabin are available for CAMPers who need 24 hour medical care, dependent on sessions. We have a recreation/dining hall, outdoor basketball courts, nature center, arts and crafts area, archery area, night activity pavilion, music recreation and paint ball areas. We have a newly completed Aquatic Center with a splash pad, pool, warm water pool and lazy river. Each water feature along with the pool house is 100% accessible to all Campers. Bordering on the Guadalupe allows for canoeing activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The idea for Children’s Association for Maximum Potential (CAMP) began when a group of Air Force physicians realized how important a camping experience could be to their pediatric patients with special needs. Founded in 1979, CAMP was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1980. In 1988 CAMP purchased a campground on the Guadalupe River in Center Point, Texas, and became accredited by the American Camp Association in 1992.

Head nurse, Executive Camp Director and Camp Director certified as Red Cross First Aid/CPR Instructors. Director of Family Support Program and Assistant Camp Director are certified in First Aid and CPR training. Camp Director is Certified Pool operator including updates for waterpark management. Camp Director and Summer Executive Chef are certified Food Service Managers. Head nurse is an official facilitator of the Dept. of Human Services, Office of Minority Health, Culturally Competent Nursing Care CNE Program-a nine hour course that encourages cultural sensitivity, overcoming cultural conflicts and linguistic competency.

Executive Camp Director is a Crisis Prevention Institute’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Senior Level Instructor with advanced Autism Spectrum Disorders Instructor certification. CAMP passed the Texas State Health Inspection with 0 deficiencies. Passed the Baptist Child and family Service (BFCS) Emergency Shelter Inspection and is a recommended shelter provider for BFCS Special Needs Emergency Shelter Operations for the State of Texas. CAMP achieved full 3-year accreditation from the American Camp Association based on its Summer 2013 accreditation visit.

CAMP does its best to ensure that no one is ever turned away based on the severity of their disability or inability of the family to pay.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Camp provides a thorough orientation and continuous training for the program. Volunteers will be trained on how to work with individuals who have special needs - to include child development, hygiene and personal care, behavior management, medical diagnoses, and CAMP policies and procedures. Training is mandatory for all new and returning volunteers. Volunteers can earn up to 99 service hours per session.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: The cost of summer camp is $1500 per session. CAMP offers the Scholarship Tier option to any families whose CAMPer does not receive agency funding and cannot pay the full cost. The Scholarship Tier costs are offered based on family income; the family’s 2013 IRS1040 and supporting W-2's must be submitted to qualify for this payment option.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): January 16-18 2015. Children with cancer who also have some other condition or disability.

Date TBD 2 weekend retreats for people who have experienced a traumatic injury.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Respite Weekend Camps: Respite Weekend Camp is a monthly program during non-summer months at our Center Point, Texas location. Children and adults, aged 5 to 40 years, have the opportunity to enjoy recreational camp activities specifically designed with their special needs in mind. Families must enroll in the Respite Club to participate in the event. This program is housed at our Camp CAMP facility at 515 Skyline Drive in Center Point, TX 78010.

Parents Night Out (PNO): Parents Night Out (PNO) is a childcare and enrichment activity program for current Respite Club members aged 6 months to 13 years. PNO is free of charge on scheduled Friday nights and is available for children with developmental disabilities and their siblings. Families must enroll in the Respite Club to participate in the event. This program is housed at CAMP’s Executive Offices at the Boorda Center on Lackland Air Force Base (LAFB) in San Antonio, TX 78227.

Teen and Adult Day Adventure (TADA): Teen and Adult Day Adventure (TADA) is a supervised social program in the Greater San Antonio community for teens and adults, aged 14-40. Activities can include dinner, movies, sporting events, SA rodeo, and concerts. Families must enroll in the Respite Club to participate in the event. The cost of the event is the responsibility of the participant.

All facilities air-conditioned and it boasts an indoor 9-lane collegiate size pool, Aquatic Center, 4000 Sq.ft. air-conditioned Fitness Center with state of the art wellness equipment, fabulous new dormitories, quad style with one or two campers sharing a bathroom. TEXAS: Camp Shane Texas is set on a lovely 83-acre, beautifully landscaped and wooded campus with attractive and well kept facilities in gorgeous Texas Hill Country setting. Dormitories are modern with custom furniture, granite bathroom counter tops and polished concrete floors. All sport facilities, dorms and classrooms are air conditioned. There is an outdoor classroom, garden, orchard, chicken coop, and miles of nature trails as well as a state-of-the-art weight room, fitness center, multi-purpose room, two gymnasiums and a new indoor swimming pool. Wholesome and nutritious Shane approved healthy menu prepared on-site. We are not a fat camp nor are we a boot camp. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This year we will again bring guest faculty from around the country to work with dancers in the disciplines of Ballet, Modern Dance, Musical Theatre and Classical Jazz.

The workshop will be held July 1-26 and is available to dancers ages 8 and up.

Each week dancers will study classical ballet and one other discipline.

We will accept a TOTAL of 40 dancers for the entire program so as not to over-crowd our classes. It is very important to me that the dancers receive as much attention as possible.

Academic Leadership Summer Camps for Outstanding 4th-8th graders
Outstanding students meet in Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin/San Antonio, or Houston/Galveston for a week of fun, learning, leadership development, and visits to unique and historically significant Texas destinations. Each day students explore notable Texas sites, learn about unique careers from professionals at sites visited, and develop their leadership abilities during leadership groups with their facilitators.

All adult facilitators, one for every ten students, are Texas teachers. In addition to improving their leadership abilities, participants gain self-confidence and independence and develop new friendships with other high-achieving students. Participants must maintain an 85 or higher average and receive an educator recommendation based on demonstrated leadership ability.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Gymnastics training is a springboard to improved athleticism in all sports. WOGA trained athletes have competed at State, Regional, National levels in gymnastics, diving, figure skating, pole vaulting, golf, soccer and skate/snow boarding.

RECREATIONAL CAMPS: Recreational camps are available from boys and girls 3 years old and up. In addition to outstanding gymnastics training, campers will enjoy tumbling, trampoline, games, arts and crafts and other activities.

Recreational camps are offered all summer and during school breaks that coordinate with the Plano and Frisco school districts in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. PROGRAM: In addition to outstanding gymnastics training, campers will enjoy tumbling, trampoline, games, arts and crafts, and other activities.

COACHES PROFILE: We have friendly, experienced, safety-certified coaches who provide excellent gymnastics instruction.

CAMPER ESSENTIALS: Campers attending “Full Day” are responsible for providing their own lunch. All campers will be provided with a drink and snack daily.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: SALT (Service and Leadership Training) campers will have the opportunity to serve the greater camp community while learning ways to engage others in team building initiatives, problem solving, communication and servant-hood. Putting leadership skills into actions, SALT campers will be partially responsible for the mini-campers and will help with the daily ministry operations of the camp. High ropes, including the zip-line and power pole as well as mountain biking, along with other traditional camp activities round out the week of fun and spiritual growth as a SALT participant.

Gilmont Interns participate in a two week camp experience. The first week, they participate with the SALT program and the second week they serve more in an assistant counselor role. If participant is 16 years old the first day of camp, they must have gone through the SALT program. Interns learn teaching techniques; go through discussions in delivery of low ropes course initiatives; help plan and deliver vesper services with guidance from the Spiritual Adviser; plan and teach with one other intern and program staff activities in the second week; take part in and understand all specialty camps; and, discover the fun and responsibilities of becoming a counselor.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Hunters Chase Farms also offers a fabulous after school horseback riding program along with many other great horse related opportunities. HCF offers an off campus athletic program for students are serious about the equestrian sport. These students leave school an hour early to come to the stables to work out with their horse 15 hours a week . They also are part of the HCF Show Team who attend "AA", "A", "B" USEF rated competitions along with local unrated horse shows. The HCF after school program consists of group lessons for students ages 5 and up .

We have lessons for the very beginner students up to the most advanced riders in our Olympic level athletic program above. HCF also offers lessons on the trail ride to regular students along with tourists who come to the Wimberley area. We have over 100 acres to ride on and you will love your lesson with Casey riding through the Texas Hill Country The HCF boarding facility is open to students who have their own horses. Our barns are big and airy and our boarding includes turn out as much as possible and our horses are quite happy. HCF also has a variety of sale horses and ponies. We specialize in good minded safe horses for pleasure and the show ring.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: WhizBizKids offers kids and teens the opportunity to learn about money, business, and leadership in a fun, interactive 5-day camp! Campers work as a team to start their own pop-up business and bring a product to market. They pitch to an investor and experience first-hand the challenges and victories of managing money. And they keep all of the profits that they make! Hundreds of happy kids have walked away with a check for their very first business venture!

Through this super fun, hands-on experience, kids and teens learn how money works and the value of money. By managing their own business throughout the week, they learn how to use their resources wisely and how to grow their money. This interactive experience gives them the tools to develop their own creative ideas and explore their inner entrepreneur while gaining skills in leadership and integrity. Our small group ratio of 6:1 ensures each camper gets personal attention and enthusiastic support to address their passions and interests.

The Learnatory Esports & Coding STEAM Camps are for those passionate about video games and excited to code! National Esports Champions teach rising 3rd thru 11th graders proven strategies and provide personal VOD analyses of their gameplay in: Fortnite, Roblox, Minecraft, Rocket League. Coding & Game Design STEAM Summer Camps include: SCRATCH, JavaScript, Python, C# thru Unity.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Through The Learnatory In-School, After-School, Home-School, Weekend, Summer Camps, and online programs, The Learnatory, has served over 12,000 college-bound youth and teens in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City effectively and significantly boost their academic, personal, and career development. We offer over 50 various STEAM courses and programs. Our virtual program began in the Summer, 2020 and will continue to operate to serve more young people nationwide.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Esports camps are coached by actual top National Esports Champions.

Each camper receives a proprietary PEP (Prescribed Educational Plan) for every class they take that states exactly what skills they will learn and documents at the end how well they learned them.

Esports camps are designed for those passionate about video games because research shows “Gamers are more likely to pursue high-paying careers in the lucrative STEM/STEAM fields than non-gamers.”

Coding is a basic literacy in the digital age, and it is important for kids to understand and be able to work with and understand the technology around them.

During the summer of 2014 more than 70,000 US and international campers attended a US Sports Camps program. US Sports Camps currently offers 24 programs in 15 different sports.

Our summer sports camps include: Baseball, Basketball, Crew, Field Hockey, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Lacrosse, Multi-Sport, Rugby, Running, Soccer, Softball, Swim, Tennis, Ultimate, Volleyball, Waterpolo, and Yoga. We also offer several International sports camps around the world. Our sports camps continue to grow thanks to an outstanding community of Camp Directors and the dedication of the entire USSC staff. CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Students may apply for a need based scholarship. Scholarship is based on a lot of factors including availability of funds. Application does not guarantee a scholarship. Eligibility Criteria: Must be a student living in the U.S., must have a copy of the most recent U.S. IRS Tax Return. Preference will be given to student recommendations by Partner Schools. Our Nonprofit DataEthics4All 501(c)(3) EIN 85-3148963 provides need based Scholarships to Students to participate in the STEAM in AI Program based on the availability of funds.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Start a STEAM in AI Chapter to find all year round opportunities for students to learn artificial intelligence and ethics, leadership and volunteering. CAMP FACILITIES: When "The Heart" was first built, it was a resort hotel, so all our "tepees" have central air-conditioning. Campers under 12 live in the original hotel, 4-5 girls per room with a counselor, indoor plumbing. Older girls live in dormitory-style "tepees" with 10-12 girls and 2-3 counselors per room, indoor plumbing. All bunk beds are twin size.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Heart O' the Hills has been a summer camp for girls since 1953. Director Jane Ragsdale was a camper herself who always wanted to run a camp. She became program director when she was 21, and after 12 summers in that role, became director. 2015 was her 50th consecutive summer to be at camp in some capacity.

We offer two- and four-week sessions. All campers are asked to take Red Cross swim lessons, field sports and horseback riding. There is a list of some 50 electives that campers can choose from to round out their schedules, so there is something for everyone--from the most athletic to the most creative. The emphasis is on learning new skills in a fun environment.

New campers draw from a hat to determine tribe affiliation. The friendly competitive spirit of the tribes are infectious!

Campers leave their electronics at home and learn to live and relate to each other the old fashioned way.

Counselors arrive a minimum of one week before campers to take skills certification courses and learn all about how The Heart operates.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Heart LITes are too old to be campers but haven't had a year of college, so don't qualify to be counselors. They may apply to come as volunteers.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
We hire role model counselors, energetic and fun young women who can organize and teach skills to campers. Also limited openings for support staff: horseback, office, maintenance, kitchen.

CAMP FACILITIES: In general, Family Summer Travel Camps strive to secure above average to premium level accommodations.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The program includes family-based adventure tourism with a connection to science content as well as cultural experiences. Every summer camp program is led by professional educators as well as expert local guides.
