CAMP LOCATION: We are located about 1 hour north of Houston, 2.5 hours east of Austin, on 100 acres of the beautiful Texas Piney Woods. Please visit our website and our Events page (lanterncreekevents.com) for lots of camp photos!

CAMP FACILITIES: Our camp features four adorable bunkhouse cabins that have central air & heat. We have an expansive dining room that seats 200, four art studios, a brand new swimming pool with beach entry, large deep end and multiple water features, a fully equipped high and low ropes challenge course, a lighted sports pavilion, two lakes, 40 foot water slide, archery range, gaga pit, and volleyball court.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Lantern Creek promotes girl empowerment activities that are designed to help every camper become a modern Renaissance girl. We have classes in everything from painting to tire-changing, fine art to Archery. We believe she should have the chance to do it all, or at least try it for herself. We’ve thrown out the traditional rules of what every “well-rounded” girl should do or learn or know.

Our goal: to help her make her art, find her voice, discover her path and learn some emotional and life skills along the way. That’s why our programming spans everything from painting to technical theater to singing to tire-changing and working with power tools. We believe she can do it all, or at least have the chance to try every bit of it for herself.

We focus on teaching creative and critical thinking skills while allowing every camper to just be herself. All of our activities, from art and theater to ropes and canoeing, are open to all skill and experience levels and are the perfect vehicle for fostering self-confidence, self-esteem and leadership.

Camp Lantern Creek is unique in our dedication to camper-centered learning. We put campers first. We are focused on the camper’s needs, abilities, interests and learning styles. Our activities and our leadership program acknowledge camper voice as central to the learning process for every camper. Camp Lantern Creek girls are encouraged to be active, responsible participants in shaping their camp experience. We believe outdoor play is important as well, with a ropes course, pool, lake and multi-story water slide. A camper might spend part of her morning making pop art, the other half in a canoe, and the afternoon in “Rosie’s Riveters,” a class designed to teach girls how to use real-world tools.

Our mission is to create and sustain a magical environment where campers try new things every day while making lifelong friendships.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We have a national class leadership program that begins with rising 9th graders and proceeds through the high school year. We have intentionally developed training that lends itself extremely well to college and job applications, as well as rounding out real-world skills.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We have limited scholarships available. Please contact owner, Sunni Markowitz at sunni[AT]camplanterncreek.com. All applications must be submitted by January 30th.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): In the spring, we offer a weekend for mothers and daughters to experience a day in the life at camp together. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Since 1979, Skyhawks sports has led safe, fun and skill-focused sports camps and programs for youth between the ages of 3-12.

We offer many different different sports--and countless ways for your child to grow. The camps range from soccer to baseball to our popular mulit-sport camps where kids sample three different sports (soccer, basketball and baseball) in one camp.

Our camps and programs are offered locally throughout over 500 communities. The format includes traditional week-long summer day camps and year-round after-school programs that range from 45 minutes to 6 hours in duration, per day. Our progression of camps and programs, led by our expert staff, are generated toward youth looking for a sport introduction or those who want to refine and master their sport-specific skills.

For Detailed Information on ALL of our summer sports camps, please visit our website at Our Camp Website Link: www.skyhawks.com.

Our coaches and site directors make a significant difference to your childs on-field experience. Chosen for their strong personal character, responsibility, and capacity to effectively communicate sports skills to youth, our staff will make the extra effort every time to ensure that your children have the best on-field/court experience, emphasize teamwork, and learn life skills through sports. Our staff are required to complete our extensive certification process.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We offer financial aid for those families that qualify. Please call 1.800.804.3509 for an application.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We offer year round programs in select states, please see our website for complete information on all Skyhawks Sport Camps in your area.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Skyhawks Sports Camps are SAFETY FOCUSED!

At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called Gate System and Parking Lot Duty. This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harms way by funneling them into our gate system. Eye contact is maintained from each one of our staff members until the kids make it onto the field/court where they are grouped by age. This efficient process ensures safety. Additionally, it develops a level of trust between parent, coach, and child that ultimately leads to a fun and skill-focused camp for youth.

CAMP LOCATION: St. Stephen's Episcopal School campus occupies 300 acres of beautiful land, nestled in the Northwest Hills of Austin, Texas. Quite honestly, most people are shocked when they visit St. Stephens for the first time. It certainly doesn't look like your typical school campus. The buildings set into the hillside frame views of the lake and the surrounding hills. Even the athletic fields have views that look like they came right off a postcard.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have 44 buildings in all including classroom buildings, dorms, a gym, a black box space, a proscenium stage, practice rooms, a recital hall, and faculty houses. Arts facilities include the Helm Fine Arts Center featuring the Temple Family Theatre, a 410-seat performance venue and proscenium stage; a 100-seat recital hall; and an open-air portico overlooking Lake Austin. In addition to Helm, the campus boasts Hines Hall Black Box Theatre, two additional rehearsal/performance spaces, and the Clayton dance studio.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Philosophy: Texas Arts Project offers a personalized artistic journey combining inter-disciplinary course work, individual attention from industry professionals, artistic challenges encouraging growth, and a safe space for students from all backgrounds to overcome personal artistic obstacles. Fast-paced, professional-style rehearsals and film shoots allow campers to excel as both artists and people.

What separates Texas Arts Project from other summer programs? A Safe Environment St. Stephen's boarding school is tucked away on 300 acres of Texas hill country, with 24 hour security.

Quality Instruction: The faculty and staff members are chosen based on professional and instructional expertise. All faculty members are of the highest caliber as both artists and educators. There is no benchmark at TAP camp. We believe that with direction and motivation, each camper can push beyond his or her perceived personal limitations.

Individual Attention: The faculty and staff take pride in making sure all students receive personalized training. Teachers use the small classes as an opportunity to advance and enhance each student's personal journey.

Results: Campers leave with a sense of personal fulfillment, often exhibiting greater self-confidence, a deeper passion for their art form and a true commitment to themselves, their art, and the people around them. Our campers study acting, film, dance, musical theatre, and technical theatre at top universities around the world. We are equally proud of our campers in med school, law school, and business school. CAMP FACILITIES: Facilities and accommodations vary from trip to trip.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Road Less Traveled as an organization was founded by Jim and Donna Stein in 1991, and has been successfully running safe, exciting, life-changing trips for teens ever since. Both Jim and Donna are still the current directors, and are integrally involved in every single aspect of the company. In the summer, they are on call 24/7, available both to parents as well as to our leaders in the field.

We are an ACA accredited organization with an impeccable track record. We believe in the process of accreditation. It allows us to compare our standards to other professionals in the industry. Our accreditation allows us to follow specific standards related to leader screening including use of application forms, reference checks, personal interviews, work history review, and background checks.

Many years ago, we were the first company serving young adults to require that all leaders have a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) medical certification. WFR training is far more advanced than standard first aid or wilderness first aid. In addition to this certification, we carry extensive first aid kits on all of our programs that include antibiotics and epinephrine. Contents, protocols, and standing orders are reviewed and updated every year by our Medical Director who is an MD.

Since our inception, RLT has been on the cutting edge of technological advances in communication. We began carrying Iridium satellite phones on all of our programs as soon as they were available. CAMP LOCATION: Located on Guadalupe River's beautiful South Fork, 85 miles northwest of San Antonio in the Texas Hill Country. We are 2,000 feet above sea level, so our nights are cool. Our nearest town of size is Kerrville, Texas

CAMP FACILITIES: When "The Heart" was first built, it was a resort hotel, so all our "tepees" have central air-conditioning. Campers under 12 live in the original hotel, 4-5 girls per room with a counselor, indoor plumbing. Older girls live in dormitory-style "tepees" with 10-12 girls and 2-3 counselors per room, indoor plumbing. All bunk beds are twin size.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Heart O' the Hills has been a summer camp for girls since 1953. Director Jane Ragsdale was a camper herself who always wanted to run a camp. She became program director when she was 21, and after 12 summers in that role, became director. 2015 was her 50th consecutive summer to be at camp in some capacity.

We offer two- and four-week sessions. All campers are asked to take Red Cross swim lessons, field sports and horseback riding. There is a list of some 50 electives that campers can choose from to round out their schedules, so there is something for everyone--from the most athletic to the most creative. The emphasis is on learning new skills in a fun environment.

New campers draw from a hat to determine tribe affiliation. The friendly competitive spirit of the tribes are infectious!

Campers leave their electronics at home and learn to live and relate to each other the old fashioned way.

Counselors arrive a minimum of one week before campers to take skills certification courses and learn all about how The Heart operates.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Heart LITes are too old to be campers but haven't had a year of college, so don't qualify to be counselors. They may apply to come as volunteers.

Havana has a hugely diverse music scene, reflecting the generations of migrants and slaves brought here, each with their own musical culture.
