In camp they experience how money works and how to use their money wisely. Plus they get to keep all the money they make! YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: The Apprentice Program provides year-round leadership and personal financial management training. Through participating as an Apprentice, tweens and teens deepen and broaden their understanding of leadership and financial concepts, while getting new experience and training in being part of a Leadership Team.

The Apprentice Program is a career development program for teens where they gain experience in leadership, working collaboratively with others, and being responsible and making a real contribution to the training and development of others. We have developed the Program as a real training and development program—where our Apprentices move along a defined pathway of increasing levels of accountability and responsibility. They are involved throughout the process in measuring and evaluating their advancement from Apprentice to Senior Apprentice to Coach.

Kids explore how money really works and develop skills in leadership, teamwork and accountability while having TONS of fun.

Here's what we'll be exploring:

· How does a business work?

· What makes a great business idea?

· Where does the money come from?

· How can I make my money grow?

Campers develop a business idea, including a marketing plan, analyzing expenses and potential profit, delivering a good or service, determining how to invest the profits.

The business partners then pitch their idea to our Barracudas to get a loan for their supplies (Moolah U’s version of Shark Tank) and then produce and sell their product for the week.

All this, couched in an environment of play/exploration and a variety of self-directed activities.

Kids leave our program saying it was one of the best experiences that they have had and they return each year to learn more. Moolah U gives them tools to create a life of financial independence and responsibility, the life skills that we know make a difference for the next generation.

Teen graduates of Moolah U are eligible to enter the Apprentice Training Program where they deepen their experience of leadership and financial skills. The Apprentice Program is a year round program that includes working with local business mentors, special workshops on life skills including time management, communication, and project based learning. Apprentices participate at camps on the leadership team and when 15 may enter the Apprentice Coach Internship Program.

CAMP FACILITIES: Natural stone cabins, swimming pool, newly resurfaced tennis courts, baseball/softball field, soccer and football field, dining hall, 2 large gyms, acres of Guadalupe river-front, rustic amphitheater and outdoor chapel.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our summer camps Rio Vista for boys and Sierra Vista for girls offer over 40 exciting and challenging activities that campers choose from. Every camper gets to choose 8 or 9 activities depending on the term that make up their personalized schedule. This allows each camper to focus on the activities and skills he/she is most interested in developing. Horseback Riding and Swimming classes are assigned according to skill level and some sports are also divided by age and skill level. We want campers to learn skills, and have fun in a safe supervised environment while interacting with other campers and staff. Classes are approximately one hour and campers will participate in two or three activities in the mornings depending on the term and two in the afternoons, alternating four or five on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and another four or five on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Ages 4-8, Students will be split into skill-based groups. Dancers will learn the basics of ballet, study different ballet tales containing fairies, eat healthy snacks provided by Tapestry and experiment with creativity as they design a final day performance.Please send your student with a healthy lunch. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: In the Fall of 2003, Daryl Gelender and Jill Stolbach, both Dallas residents and former Greenhill private school teachers, dreamed of a place children could learn through an elaborate enrichment program taught by professionals in a summer camp environment. It was from this dream that Camp Kiowa brought its first campers to Texas Woman’s University in Denton during the summer of 2004.

In 2005, Brian and Jennifer Manhart purchased Camp Kiowa in an effort to maintain the high-quality enrichment program already in place, and to incorporate all the benefits of a traditional camp experience. After 2 years of continual growth on the university campus, Brian and Jennifer decided to offer an additional enrichment experience in a more traditional camp environment. The university experience many campers have known as Camp Kiowa evolved into Kiowa U. Many campers, in search of a more traditional style of overnight camp, but looking for the depth only found in an enrichment program, enjoyed the experience known as Adventure Kiowa.

In 2009, The Manhart family purchased the future home of Camp Kiowa(Lone Oak Ranch). They understood the value of joining both Kiowa U and Adventure Kiowa into one experience… Camp Kiowa at Lone Oak Ranch. This program offers the best of both worlds… traditional overnight camp, educational programs, relational activities, fun evening programs and genuine friendships! The Manharts also understood the benefit of living year-round on the property with other team leaders that could focus on quality programming in a very safe environment. The group has been extremely successful with “off-season” events and is now equipped to produce only the best summer camp experience with Camp Kiowa.

Students entering their Junior year can apply We have opening the two terms: July 5- July 19 OR July 26- August 9. We are primarily looking for girls, as most (not all) of our male slots have been taken. This is a wonderful opportunity to stretch some wings, discover and be challenge.

Ranch Hands/ Work Crew- This program is designed for campers who are entering their junior year of high school looking for an opportunity to serve, learn, train to be a counselor, and ultimately have the best summer ever. You will be in a cabin with other ranch hands/ work crew your age and gender. You will interact with campers at meal times, evening programs, and some activities. Your primary responsibility will be to serve camp and plan for the day-to-day activities. You will be held to the same high standards as our staff members and asked to have a selfless approach to all projects. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, meal times set up and clean up, evening program set up and tear down, trash runs, activity setup, etc. This position is unpaid. 1) Youth Academy - Designed for boys and girls ages 6-10. Fun, exciting and engaging activities are all part of the week. We do this with individual and small group activities with the introduction of fun technical exercises and games that are engaging and pertinent for the age group and ability level. With our unique curriculum youth players will be exposed to the proper technique such as shooting, dribbling, 1v1, crossing and much more.

2) Junior Academy - Designed for boys & girls, goalkeepers and field players ages 10-13. Each session will be progressive in nature and will conclude with a relative small-sided game that will highlight the topic of the session. 3) Senior Academy - Designed for High School players, including incoming freshmen, who are ready to play and be trained at the next level. . Throughout the week, players will be put in a competitive environment that will bring out their very best. Players will be exposed to the four dimensions of training, Physical, Technical, Tactical and Psychological. In our unique evening competitions, players will have the opportunity to compete against other teams, other players and themselves.

4) College Prep Academy - Our goal is to provide an incredible environment where serious soccer players will be exposed to the highest level of instruction in anticipation of playing at the highest level possible. High Performance Seminars will be led by trusted experts in their field and will include: Sports Nutrition, Soccer Specific Conditioning, ACT/SAT Preparation and Sport Psychology. Goalkeepers and field players will be exposed to an intensive training environment for those who are serious about fulfilling their potential.

5) College Showcase Camps - Now available for the serious soccer player at select No.1 Soccer Camp sites throughout the country. The directors of our College ID Showcase Camps are all currently active college coaches. CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Olympia has outstanding facilities, including a swimming pool, challenge course, as well as fields and courts for many activities. While most of the activities take place on a 101-acre location, camp has access to hundreds of additional acres of private land. We improve the facility each year with additions and enhancements so campers are always in for a treat when they return. Additions within the last 5 years include our new climbing wall at our swimming pool, new lakeside Olympiatheater that is perfect for Talent Show, New Cluster of Cabins (our largest cluster of cabins ever!), 2-Person Zip Line at the Challenge Course, a Water Balloon Battle Station at the pool, and Aqua Inflatables for both the pool and waterfront! While Olympia is located on the breezy shores of Lake Livingston, it does get warm in Texas during the summer. Unlike most of the other camps in Texas, all of the cabins, bathrooms, our dining hall, and many of the enclosed areas are air conditioned. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The Camp Olympia Leadership Program (CLP) is the pinnacle of an Olympia camper’s tenure at camp and a once-in-a-lifetime experience! It is a program for prior Camp Olympia campers who are sixteen years of age by July 1.

The CLP Program offers a unique summer camp adventure as it combines a Camp Olympia experience in Texas with a week-long Colorado adventure, including: leadership training, lifeguard and first aid training and certification, rock-climbing, team ropes course and initiatives, whitewater rafting, and climbing a mountain together as a team. CAMP FACILITIES: We are situated on 100 acres with two venues used for our campers. We have over 25 lesson and trail horses that are amazing for beginners and more advanced riders. We are the trailhead of over 30 miles of lakeside trails maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. We ride those trails daily and in our camps.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Campers will enjoy a hands-on learning experience. We begin with feeding horses, learning all about horse safety, grooming, anatomy, and tacking up. They will learn the basics of riding in a Western saddle, an English saddle, and even get on bareback. YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Hunters Chase Farms also offers a fabulous after school horseback riding program along with many other great horse related opportunities. HCF offers an off campus athletic program for students are serious about the equestrian sport. These students leave school an hour early to come to the stables to work out with their horse 15 hours a week . They also are part of the HCF Show Team who attend "AA", "A", "B" USEF rated competitions along with local unrated horse shows. The HCF after school program consists of group lessons for students ages 5 and up .

We have lessons for the very beginner students up to the most advanced riders in our Olympic level athletic program above. HCF also offers lessons on the trail ride to regular students along with tourists who come to the Wimberley area. We have over 100 acres to ride on and you will love your lesson with Casey riding through the Texas Hill Country The HCF boarding facility is open to students who have their own horses. Our barns are big and airy and our boarding includes turn out as much as possible and our horses are quite happy. HCF also has a variety of sale horses and ponies. We specialize in good minded safe horses for pleasure and the show ring.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Quadrille Camp
Back by popular demand!!! Quadrille is synchronized dressage, ridden with four horses and riders, usually to music. At In The Irons Quadrille Camp teams of four will learn the quadrille test appropriate to their level of riding. This is a challenging experience! Accuracy of pattern and tempo are key, teamwork is a must. Riders must learn to be aware one another and temper the pace of their horse to match the others. The camp ends on Saturday when all the campers demonstrate their quadrille for friends and family. When the campers are not on horseback they will be doing a variety of activities ranging from arts and crafts to learning veterinary skills. Quadrille Camp is for intermediate riders who can confidently post the trot.

Beginner Camp
Beginner camp is designed for those with very little or no previous riding experience. All riding is tailored to the beginners’ needs. The campers will learn to play games on horseback, navigate a trail course and participate in a variety of unmounted activities. Our goal is for your child to learn the basics of horseback riding while having fun and enjoying friends.

By honoring standards, values, and self esteem, In The Irons aims to make a positive difference in the lives of our campers. They are encouraged to do their best and feel joy in their accomplishments.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have 3 large cabins that hold a maximum of 50 campers in each cabin. The cabins at Camp are large, climate controlled, and wheelchair accessible. Spaces in the medical cabin are available for CAMPers who need 24 hour medical care, dependent on sessions. We have a recreation/dining hall, outdoor basketball courts, nature center, arts and crafts area, archery area, night activity pavilion, music recreation and paint ball areas. We have a newly completed Aquatic Center with a splash pad, pool, warm water pool and lazy river. Each water feature along with the pool house is 100% accessible to all Campers. Bordering on the Guadalupe allows for canoeing activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The idea for Children’s Association for Maximum Potential (CAMP) began when a group of Air Force physicians realized how important a camping experience could be to their pediatric patients with special needs. Founded in 1979, CAMP was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1980. In 1988 CAMP purchased a campground on the Guadalupe River in Center Point, Texas, and became accredited by the American Camp Association in 1992.

Head nurse, Executive Camp Director and Camp Director certified as Red Cross First Aid/CPR Instructors. Director of Family Support Program and Assistant Camp Director are certified in First Aid and CPR training. Camp Director is Certified Pool operator including updates for waterpark management. Camp Director and Summer Executive Chef are certified Food Service Managers. Head nurse is an official facilitator of the Dept. of Human Services, Office of Minority Health, Culturally Competent Nursing Care CNE Program-a nine hour course that encourages cultural sensitivity, overcoming cultural conflicts and linguistic competency.

Executive Camp Director is a Crisis Prevention Institute’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Senior Level Instructor with advanced Autism Spectrum Disorders Instructor certification. CAMP passed the Texas State Health Inspection with 0 deficiencies. Passed the Baptist Child and family Service (BFCS) Emergency Shelter Inspection and is a recommended shelter provider for BFCS Special Needs Emergency Shelter Operations for the State of Texas. CAMP achieved full 3-year accreditation from the American Camp Association based on its Summer 2013 accreditation visit.

CAMP does its best to ensure that no one is ever turned away based on the severity of their disability or inability of the family to pay.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Camp provides a thorough orientation and continuous training for the program. Volunteers will be trained on how to work with individuals who have special needs - to include child development, hygiene and personal care, behavior management, medical diagnoses, and CAMP policies and procedures. Training is mandatory for all new and returning volunteers. Volunteers can earn up to 99 service hours per session.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: The cost of summer camp is $1500 per session. CAMP offers the Scholarship Tier option to any families whose CAMPer does not receive agency funding and cannot pay the full cost. The Scholarship Tier costs are offered based on family income; the family’s 2013 IRS1040 and supporting W-2's must be submitted to qualify for this payment option.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): January 16-18 2015. Children with cancer who also have some other condition or disability.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Respite Weekend Camps: Respite Weekend Camp is a monthly program during non-summer months at our Center Point, Texas location. Children and adults, aged 5 to 40 years, have the opportunity to enjoy recreational camp activities specifically designed with their special needs in mind. Families must enroll in the Respite Club to participate in the event. This program is housed at our Camp CAMP facility at 515 Skyline Drive in Center Point, TX 78010.

Parents Night Out (PNO): Parents Night Out (PNO) is a childcare and enrichment activity program for current Respite Club members aged 6 months to 13 years. PNO is free of charge on scheduled Friday nights and is available for children with developmental disabilities and their siblings. Families must enroll in the Respite Club to participate in the event. This program is housed at CAMP’s Executive Offices at the Boorda Center on Lackland Air Force Base (LAFB) in San Antonio, TX 78227.

Teen and Adult Day Adventure (TADA): Teen and Adult Day Adventure (TADA) is a supervised social program in the Greater San Antonio community for teens and adults, aged 14-40. Activities can include dinner, movies, sporting events, SA rodeo, and concerts. Families must enroll in the Respite Club to participate in the event. The cost of the event is the responsibility of the participant.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This year we will again bring guest faculty from around the country to work with dancers in the disciplines of Ballet, Modern Dance, Musical Theatre and Classical Jazz.

The workshop will be held July 1-26 and is available to dancers ages 8 and up.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: CodeStream Studios is a hands on computer-coding program that focuses on teaching students in elementary, middle and high school to code. Our program can be delivered in the classroom, virtually or at stand-alone camps.

CAMP FACILITIES: The Camp offers the finest facilities in the country. Food is prepared by the on premises chef. The Golf Academy has the most up to date training equiptment available. Resident campers reside in a dormitory setting, a privately-owned resident hall located across the street from The University of Texas. Boys are assigned two to a room according to age or individual roommate requests. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided for all overnight campers and day campers receive lunch and dinner. The residence center features a swimming pool, fitness center and game room.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Game Worlds was created as a way to use the partnership of technology and creativity in software and game development. We teach skills that help students succeed in their future, including programming, art, design, audio design, business development, and teamwork. Taking a students’ existing interest in games and game development, our program creates an experience that is fun and educational.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We offer early registration discounts: $100 off if you sign up between January 1st and March 1st. $50 off if you sign up between March 2nd and May 1st.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Our camp lasts one week, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Each Session is comprised of student teams, working in their own age groups, typically 3-5 students. The team works as a group to create a game around the week’s themes (Underwater Exploration, Mountain Climbing, Fantastic Voyage Into the Body, etc). Each team is led by a Camp Counselor, who is responsible for their team’s work and serves as a mentor and instructor during the course of the week. They work together as a team to bring their idea to life. At Game Worlds, we love teamwork and work hard to make sure every student has the opportunity to participate.

Each day has a different development theme (Programming, Art, Audio, Design, etc), and starts with a presentation from an experienced Developer. We have daily tutorials that explore the different area of development, and lab time where the teams work on their games.

On Friday, the students present their work to a panel of Game Industry professionals! It’s a friendly competition among the teams, so there are prizes and awards given out. Parents are encouraged and welcome at the Presentation! It’s a great opportunity for everyone to see the hard work the students have done.

After the Awards Ceremony there is an optional Pizza Party where students can relax and enjoy the company of their new friends! They’ve earned it, and it’s one of our favorite parts of camp. It runs Friday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We offer a CIT (Counselor in Training) program for 15-16 year olds who are looking to take the next steps to becoming a counselor. This is a three week program, the first two weeks the CITs will spend training and doing activities/team-building games to get them ready for the last week which they spend shadowing current counselors and working directly with younger children at our other two camps!

CAMP FACILITIES: North Texas Equestrian Center offers a wide array of amenities, providing first class care for horse and owner. There are four adjoining barns that can accommodate 100 horses, two inside arenas, three outside dressage/jumping arenas and Fifty acres of open riding and cross country jumps.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: NTEC offers the opportunity for young children as young as six thru teens to experience a working equine training facility, during a specialized structured camp; that is offered all day-five days a week, on a weekly basis; at three different sessions times in June. The facility has covered indoor arenas from the summer heat and an air-conditioned art room for mid-day activities in between their morning and afternoon riding lessons. In addition, an onsite farrier demonstrates his art of shoeing and trimming horse’s onsite as an added bonus.

The owner, Kai Handt was named U.S. Para-Equestrian Dressage Chef d’Equipe/Technical Advisor by The United States Federation (USEF) (Released Jan. 16, 2014). Kai has owned and operated the equestrian center known as North Texas Equestrian Center since 1985 and has coached and trained several young riders to National Championships and imported some of the finest German Warmblood for Dressage and Jumpers for aspiring riding athletes.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
100's of volunteers come for an incredible 6 day short term mission trip serving special campers. Frequently described as "the best yet hardest week of my life, can I come next week too?"

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Bette Perot is home to our award-winning Equestrian Program with a large riding arena and diverse riding trails. Camp program facilities include a swimming pool, extensive nature study sites, a sports/ game field, archery range, ropes course and climbing wall.

Camp facilities include the uniquely-designed air-conditioned Treehouse unit, three units made up of five air-conditioned cabins each and a platform tent unit located near the ropes course. Laird West Lodge is designed as an all-inclusive air-conditioned unit with bathroom facilities and program room inside. There are also two beautiful log cabins used for administration, programming and activities. The Hilltop Dining Lodge is a high-capacity dining area used for all campers and staff which includes a large indoor fireplace and glass windows for a spectacular view of the property. The Health Lodge is equipped with an emergency treatment room, individual rooms, and a ward.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:

CAMP FACILITIES: We have 10 acre property with a 10 stall barn, an outdoor arena, and a covered arena so we can ride and play even if it's wet outside.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS:
LEADERS-IN-TRAINING (LIT) (ENTERING GRADE 10)
The Camp Shalom and Sports Camp LIT Program (formerly counselor in training) has been designed to allow teens a multifaceted experience. The program contains three core components: leadership training, hands-on counselor skills guidance, and fun, social programming. Each two-week session will focus on a new topic, the opportunity to work with one of three age-groups at camp, and will provide an off-campus trip.

LITs will also have the opportunity to partake in special camp electives created just for them! Under the supervision of the LIT Assistant Director, LITs will meet as a group regularly to attend workshops planned especially for that session’s theme. Upon successful completion of the LIT Program, participants will receive a minimum of 45 community service hours and are eligible for a higher rate of pay as Assistant Counselors at Camp Shalom.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: The Jewish Community Association of Austin maintains a policy of adjusting fees according to family income. The process is strictly confidential. Financial assistance forms are also available at the Welcome Desk, the ECP Front Desk, and in the Youth & Teen Programs Office. In order to be eligible for the limited funds available for financial assistance, you must register for camp and pay all associated registration fees and deposits. Then submit a copy of your camp registration confirmation e-mail with your financial assistance application. Awards of financial assistance are made possible for community members by generous contributions to the Jewish Federation of Greater Austin Annual Campaign and other philanthropic gifts to the JCC.

Deadline for submitting your application is March 7th, 2014.

The JCC Maccabi Games are a yearly favorite with competition around the country and even in Israel!
