BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Art, Movement, & Life Skills Academy summer camps immerse youth in art, exercise, and learning skills that help campers achieve success in all things life - big and small! Each Summer Session covers different, but inter-related, topics and crafts. We focus on different areas of growth, keeping our classes fun, varied, and extremely interactive.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Dance, Fine Arts/Crafts, Basketball, Weightloss, Volleyball, Team Sports, and more. Yoga, Frisbee, Hula-Hoop, Free-Style Dancing, Fitness, Nutrition, Common-sense Skills.
CAMP LOCATION: We are located in League City Texas on HWY 3S between HWY 96 and FM646. Our beautiful building provides a perfect indoor setting for art and movement activities, along with 1/2 acre of outdoor green space for nature and outdoor activities.
CAMP FACILITIES: Our art school is fully stocked with everything needed to be as creative as possible and our fitness offerings include weights, yoga, and outside activity. Our indoor space is 1400 square feet with 2 bathrooms and our outdoor area is 1/2 acre of green space.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Upcoming activities include:
*Art : Acrylic Painting, Watercolor Painting, Printmaking, Expressive Drawing, Mixed Media, Nature Art, Fiber Arts, 3D Arts
*Movement : Yoga, Free-Style Dance, Outdoor Activities such as basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, Jenga, etc.
*Skills for Life: Use of simple tools (hammers, screwdrivers, etc.), change a tire, nutrition, creating a simple menu, food preparation, money management (age-appropriate content), sewing, daily planning, manners, and gardening.
Our art school is fully stocked with everything needed to be as creative as possible and our Creative Director, Rachael Maly, has been working with youth for over 20 years in the Arts Department. She is also a licensed Art Therapist. Our Fitness Director, Lola Scarborough, is a 500-HR certified yoga and fitness teacher, and has a strong background in nutrition and physical fitness and life coaching with teens. She is also the owner of The Health Hut (formerly Yoga Lola Studios) which has been in business for 14 years.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: During the school year Art, Movement, & Life Skills Academy offers day-time programs for homeschoolers and evening enrichment programs.
CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Our summer camp programs run weekly in June and July 2021. The are each 3-day long camps and are from 10-3PM on those days. Please see our website for complete information on registration, tuition, and discounts.
