Most Camp Counselors can be positive role-models, building leadership in their campers, and offering helpful advice and encouragement.
Some parts of Summer Camp might involve hard work and a concentrated focus on participation, helping others, and team spirit -- as well as, many other character building activities.
In most camps, campers are encouraged to take individual responsibility, whether it's making their own bed, or taking responsibility for specific camp duties.
Most summer camps are very accepting of beginners and new campers, and there will be lots of instruction, encouragement and skill building in all the major camp activities.
While many first-time campers might be a little hesitant about going, by the end of camp they probably won't want to leave.
