CAMPER AGES: Rising 6th-12th graders
TYPE OF CAMP: Overnight/Sleepaway.
CAMPER GENDER(S): Coed Campers.
BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: YAP is a series of one week courses designed to encourage career exploration in fields of interest to gifted and talented students entering grades 6-12. All sessions (with the exception of YAP Costa Rica and YAP Japan) are held on the College Station campus of Texas A&M University.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Theater, Music/Band, Video/Filmmaking/Photography, Computers, Science, Technology, Academics, Travel, and more. Animal Sciences, Architecture, Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Forensics, Law, Medicine, Nanotechnology, Nursing, Photography, Physical Sciences, Robotics, Veterinary Medicine, Visualization (3-D Animation, Game Design, Graphic Design, Virtual Technology), Wildlife Ecology & Entomology
CAMP LOCATION: YAP courses are held on the College Station campus of Texas A&M University and most campers are housed at The Cambridge, a private dormitory located near the A&M campus. Attendees of the YAP TAMU session will be living on campus at Hullabaloo Hall. Participants of the YAP Costa Rica "study abroad" session will be housed at the Soltis Center for Research and Education in San Isidro, Costa Rica.
CAMP FACILITIES: Suite-style accommodations with double occupancy bedrooms are provided at the camp's dorm.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Youth Adventure Program (YAP) is a series of one week courses designed to encourage career exploration in the fields of interest to gifted and talented students. YAP is held on the College Station campus of Texas A&M University, and courses are taught by university professors and other professionals. During the late afternoon and evening hours, students will participate in social and recreation activities that may include a pool party, a night at the movies, an "Amazing Race" or Picture Scavenger Hunt team activity, and our heralded "Wacky Olympics" competition.

YAP A: Sunday, June 16 - Friday, June 21 (For students entering grades 6-9 in the fall of 2019) Cost: $1099
YAP B: Sunday, June 23 - Saturday, June 29 (For students entering grades 8-11 in the fall of 2019) Cost: $1249
YAP COSTA RICA: Saturday, June 29 - Saturday, July 6 (For students entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2019) Cost:$2419
YAP X: Sunday, July 14 - Friday, July 19 (For students entering grades 8-11 in the fall of 2018) Cost: $1099
YAP Y: Sunday, July 21 - Saturday, July 27 (For students entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2019) Cost: $1249
