Dorms : The dorms are very comfortable. Wall-to-wall carpet, rooms with lots of space for all of your clothing and equipment. Each lounge has a television, refrigerator and microwave accessible to the campers.

95% of the rooms have 2 children per room, 2% have 3 children per room, 1% have 4 children per room and 2% are single occupancy rooms (typically for our oldest campers)

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The World Sports Camp mission is to create a safe and positive sports environment, where children from around the world, ages 8 through 16, can interact while improving their athletic skills. (Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Golf) This is accomplished through positive reinforcement coaching, with skill level training, from high level, skilled coaches and counselors. World Sports Camp allows for campers to choose which sports and to what degree they will be involved.

By empowering campers to make their own choices, we feel that their involvement will be more enthusiastic and they will have a greater desire to participate. Attention is given to treating all campers equally, with value and understanding given to the beginners as well as the advanced athlete.

World Sports Camp draws campers from 86 countries, all over the world. Approximately 35% of our campers hail from outside the United States and 65% are American. The opportunity to exchange cultural differences and participate in sports and other activities with peers from around the world is second to none.

Camp life and off campus activities are an integral part of the World Sports Camp experience. Developing new national and international friendships through sports and other camp activities, improves the quality of life for all involved. Fairness, quality sportsmanship and enforcement of rules and regulations are emphasized both on and off the playing field.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: C.I.T.'s (Camper In Training) This is a true leadership program at World Sports Camp. These campers must be 16 years of age and all but one period of each day, they will follow the normal camp schedule. During that one period, the CIT’s will shadow a coach to learn about the different coaching techniques. By the end of their stay at World Sports Camp, each CIT camper will develop a lesson for an entire period and will teach their lesson to the campers, as if they were the Head Coach!! They will have the help of the other coaches, but this will allow the CIT's to get out of their comfort zone and try something new.

As well, we have a dedicated CIT counselor who will evaluate each CIT at the end of each week to let each CIT know what they have done well and what needs improvement. In addition, because of their dedication and hard work we take all of the CIT's on a CIT trip. We allow the CIT’s to decide what this will be. For example, this past year, we went to mini-golf, laser tag, a movie and dinner off the campus as their trip of choice.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Active Learning Services, Ltd operates enrichment programs designed to stimulate creative thinking, improve thinking, logic and memory skills and give children "thinking alternatives" to sports camps and other summer programs. Our programs include chess programs and camps thru USA Chess, Our Gamebuilder Video Game Creation Programs and our Active Learning Computer Enrichment Programs.

Our staff is, comprised of the best children's chess instructors in North America! The USA Chess camps are uniquely qualified to cater to the needs of the advanced scholastic player as well as the true beginner. USA Chess hit its first milestone in the summer of 2000 producing the largest chess camp ever held in the United States, with more than 250 students enrolled. What was most surprising, however, was the amount of absolute beginners in attendance - more than 50% of the total enrollment was just starting to play chess. USA Chess thrives on providing a structured environment that is extremely conducive to learning chess. CAMP FACILITIES: We have a 15,000 square foot training facility and we use a 22 foot water slide in our backyard for even more fun.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our camp has been running in this same location for 25 years. We have USA Gymnastics safety certified coaches. Our gymnast to coach ratio is 8:1. We love children and our focus in teaching in a fun productive manner with the interest of the child as priority number one. We treat each child like they are our own.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We run year round gymnastics training for 18 months to 18 years both recreational and competitive programs available. We also offer Martial Arts.

CAMP FACILITIES: The camp's 208 acres include a half-mile of shorefront on a lovely lake surrounded by wooded property where 50 permanent buildings are located. Shamlian Hall houses two dining rooms, a library, snack bar and offices.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Good News was founded in 1935 by W. Wyeth and his wife Grace Willard. A graduate of Brown University and Princeton Theological Seminary, Dr. Willard also received a Doctor of Law Degree from Northwestern University. Their children and grandchildren continue to lead the camp program.

Camp Good News is a non-denominational, independent non-profit Christian summer camp for boys and girls ages 6-15. Sponsored by the Society for Christian Activities and founded in 1935. Camp Good News endeavors to introduce young people to the critical role that Christian faith can play in their lives and in the larger world. Counselors are the heart of Camp Good News. Our hard-working staff is selected on the basis of their camp skills, love of people, and sense of responsibility.

The waterfront program is carefully supervised by Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. Registered nurses are on 24-hour duty at the camp. A pediatrician's office is adjacent to the campgrounds, and there are two excellent hospitals on-Cape.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership Training Program (LT): is a tuition-less program for selected youth ages 16-17 who show leadership skills and who have some experience either at Camp Good News or other residential camp program. LT applicants must have strong recommendation, preferably from their previous camp counselors or camp directors and a willingness to learn new things.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Optional Trips
Optional trips are available to campers for an additional fee. On vehicles owned by the camp, the young people are taken to places of historic interest. After you register, you will receive more details and sign-up information by mail.

Optional Transportation
Camp Good News will provide transportation to and from the airport, South Station, and local bus stations for a small, additional fee. The camp staff will meet the arriving camper at the security checkpoint and ensure they board the correct departing plane/bus.

Optional Tutoring
For campers needing extra help in schoolwork, skilled tutors are available to review or make up courses. English lessons are available for our international campers.

First Sundays of every session families are welcomed to visit from 10:30 – 5:00.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Drama Camp is run and instructed by Amy Kimball, who has worked in the summer camp setting for 32 summers. She directed Summer Camp for 20 summers. Amy is an experienced Clown, Mime, Performer, Director, Certified Teacher and has had every role at camp from counselor to unit head to specialist to Director. Amy has her BA in Education and has directed over 15 theatrical productions over the years. She will be working with help from a talented staff of performers who have expertise in singing and acting. Amy's staff will go through a camp staff orientation to understand their roles and responsibilities as counselors.

Our philosophy is for campers to create, learn, enjoy and work together all in a positive setting. Drama camp is about process but at the end of the week, the campers will perform for their friends and families.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: CITs who have experience in drama and/or other training programs may contact Amy to see if there is room to be a Counselor in Training. CITs must be entering 9th or 10th grade in the fall.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers enjoy the JCC's air-conditioned, professional theater, art and dance studios, science classrooms, an indoor pool for lessons, and a zero-entry outdoor pool for free swim. Additionally, campers enjoy a dedicated gaga pit, outdoor ping pong and foosball tables, tennis courts, fields, woods, trails, and access to the Charles River. Campers may bring a vegetarian or fish lunch, or pre-order lunch from our on-site kosher caterer.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Kaleidoscope is dedicated to making camp a fun, nurturing, educational experience for each camper. Staff include well-trained bunk counselors ages 18 and up who work with groups of campers daily, and professional teachers who lead classes. Programming is organized into two four-week sessions, with flexible registration options. Registration minimum is two weeks.

All campers swim daily, with lessons offered twice weekly with our professional aquatics staff, utilizing the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy methods. Each session culminates in "Arts Night," including art and science exhibits, musical performances from lower and middle camp groups, and a fully realized musical from upper campers.

Lower campers entering grades K & 1 enjoy a balanced day of arts, science, and sports activities with caring, inclusive counselors and specialists. Middle campers entering grades 2 & 3 follow a schedule of diverse activities with their groups and enjoy "choice times" when they individually choose activities. Upper Campers in grades 4-8 design their own programs, choosing activities weekly, including theater, art, music, dance, boating and more. Upper Campers who elect to be in the musical attend for a full, 4-week session. All campers attending weeks 4 and/or 8 participate in "Arts Night", showcasing their art and science projects, and performing for parents and friends.

Camp Kaleidoscope
Love kids? Want to work in a creative, supportive environment? Camp Kaleidoscope is looking for staff for the summer. Staff must be available for full camp season including orientation dates unless otherwise agreed upon. Camp dates: June 29-August 21, 2020, 8:30-4:10pm, Monday through Friday. Orientation dates: June 23, 25, 26 and 28. Although camp is not easily accessible by public transportation, buses are available from Brookline, Cambridge, Framingham, Jamaica Plain, Roslindale and Wayland.

Specialists teach classes daily culminating in art and science exhibits and performances at the end of each four-week session. Specialists are college graduates or rising seniors with teaching and/or other relevant experience. Competitive salary. Parents on staff full-time send their children to camp for free!

Counselors
Seeking mature, reliable, patient people who understand what it takes to make a camper's day a wonderful experience. JCC Kaleidoscope Creative Arts & Science Camp is a pluralistic camp welcoming the entire community. While camp is not easily accessible by public transportation, bus counselor positions are available from Framingham and Brookline. Counselors must be 18 years of age or older or high school graduates with demonstrated leadership skills and experience working with children. All counselors must be available for the full eight-week season.

Lower and Middle Camp Counselors work in pairs or groups of three and are responsible for a group of 10-15 campers entering grades K-3. They support and nurture campers throughout the day as campers attend activities in the arts, science, sports and swimming. Middle camp counselors may also assist in other areas throughout camp.

Upper Camp Counselors work with campers entering grades 4-8. They teach or assist in classes, activities and theatrical productions. Positions include: tennis and other sports teachers, costumer, assistant tech director for shows, guitar and piano teachers, boating specialists (lifeguard certification required), and crafts teachers. Upper Camp teaching counselors should have completed at least one year of college.

CAMP FACILITIES: Housing is in basic college-style dorm rooms. Three meals a day are served in the dining hall, and snacks are available around the clock. Thompson Island features an ocean beach for swimming, hiking trails, athletic fields and equipment, and beautiful views. Sunrises and sunsets are particularly beautiful as seen from the island!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Programming consists of Scottish musical instruction during the day, and a variety of concerts, parties and sessions in the evening. We offer fiddle classes on four levels (slow, medium, fast and wicked fast!) plus piano and guitar.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have an intimate, 75 seat black box theater.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Children’s Theater Workshop will be running a one-week intensive this summer for children ages 8 - 13. The program is intended to continue the development of your child’s theatrical skills. Workshop lessons will focus on character development, storytelling, acting through song and dance and movement.

The learning begins even before the program starts! All participants will be required to audition on Saturday, July 28, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. This audition is for placement purposes only and to provide the students with the experience of a typical open audition in an easy-going, fun, non-competitive environment.

Participants have the option of bringing a prepared monologue or solo song of 16-32 bars if they so choose.

OTHER CAMP INFO: The week will culminate in a workshop performance that showcases the participants’ newly honed skills. This showcase will take place Friday evening at 7:30.
Cost of the program is $300. A non-refundable $100 deposit should be returned with a completed registration form. The balance will be due at the July 28 audition session.

Participants will need to provide their own lunch, snacks and water each day.

At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harm's way by funneling them into our gate system. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: No. 1 Soccer Camps offers a camp for all levels of players.

1) Youth Academy - Designed for boys and girls ages 6-10. Fun, exciting and engaging activities are all part of the week. We do this with individual and small group activities with the introduction of fun technical exercises and games that are engaging and pertinent for the age group and ability level. With our unique curriculum youth players will be exposed to the proper technique such as shooting, dribbling, 1v1, crossing and much more.

2) Junior Academy - Designed for boys & girls, goalkeepers and field players ages 10-13. The program has been designed to build a foundation that will help the participant’s progress to the next level. This will be accomplished in a fun, entertaining and positive environment. Each session will be progressive in nature and will conclude with a relative small-sided game that will highlight the topic of the session. 3) Senior Academy - Designed for High School players, including incoming freshmen, who are ready to play and be trained at the next level. . Throughout the week, players will be put in a competitive environment that will bring out their very best. Players will be exposed to the four dimensions of training, Physical, Technical, Tactical and Psychological. In our unique evening competitions, players will have the opportunity to compete against other teams, other players and themselves.

4) College Prep Academy - Our goal is to provide an incredible environment where serious soccer players will be exposed to the highest level of instruction in anticipation of playing at the highest level possible. High Performance Seminars will be led by trusted experts in their field and will include: Sports Nutrition, Soccer Specific Conditioning, ACT/SAT Preparation and Sport Psychology. CAMP FACILITIES: Our indoor facilities include air-conditioned Dining Hall and classrooms, Woodshop, Ceramics Studio, Photography Studio and dark room, state of the art Performance Hall and gymnasiums. Our outdoor facilities include a heated swimming pool, three-sided, 35 foot climbing tower, high and low ropes course, turf and baseball field complex, playing fields and basketball court.

The management of iSG Camps has been operating youth sports camps for over 19 years with a high rate of customer satisfaction. Camps are well organized and designed so that the designated professional athlete can easily come in and interact with youth participants.

We recognize the benefits of sports participation for youth. We work with athletes of all levels. Our priority is to get children involved in physical activity and to help alleviate the ‘couch potato’ mentality that many young people are faced with. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The faculty consists of renowned lecturers, veterans in International Mathematical Olympiads (IMO) and Olympiad coaches, who have successful careers in math, science, and technology, with many years of classroom teaching experiences. Among them are: Dr. Kevin Wang, founder of Areteem and Math Zoom, former IMO China Team member, former math faculty at UC Irvine and UCLA; Dr. Harold B. Reiter, math professor at UNCC, who is very well known and well respected in math education and math competitions. The camp curriculum will cover some or all of the following topics: For Math: Modular arithmetic, Numbers and their digits & divisors, Basic and advanced counting strategies, Combinatorics, Polynomials and their coefficients & zeros, Algebraic inequalities and other techniques, Special angles and regular polygons, Centers of triangles, Collinearity and concurrency, Trigonometry, Vector and Coordinates.

Various problem solving techniques will be introduced, as well as Math contest strategies. For Science: Scientific research methodologies, principles in mechanics, electricity and magnetism, optics, thermodynamics, etc., and real world applications such as roller coaster theory (you can learn to design your own roller coaster and build it at the camp!). For English as Second Language (ESL) students, there are also topics related to American culture and literature.
