CAMP FACILITIES: Campers enjoy the JCC's air-conditioned, professional theater, art and dance studios, science classrooms, an indoor pool for lessons, and a zero-entry outdoor pool for free swim. Additionally, campers enjoy a dedicated gaga pit, outdoor ping pong and foosball tables, tennis courts, fields, woods, trails, and access to the Charles River. Campers may bring a vegetarian or fish lunch, or pre-order lunch from our on-site kosher caterer.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Kaleidoscope is dedicated to making camp a fun, nurturing, educational experience for each camper. Staff include well-trained bunk counselors ages 18 and up who work with groups of campers daily, and professional teachers who lead classes. Programming is organized into two four-week sessions, with flexible registration options. Registration minimum is two weeks.

All campers swim daily, with lessons offered twice weekly with our professional aquatics staff, utilizing the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy methods. Each session culminates in "Arts Night," including art and science exhibits, musical performances from lower and middle camp groups, and a fully realized musical from upper campers.

Lower campers entering grades K & 1 enjoy a balanced day of arts, science, and sports activities with caring, inclusive counselors and specialists. Middle campers entering grades 2 & 3 follow a schedule of diverse activities with their groups and enjoy "choice times" when they individually choose activities. Upper Campers in grades 4-8 design their own programs, choosing activities weekly, including theater, art, music, dance, boating and more. Upper Campers who elect to be in the musical attend for a full, 4-week session. All campers attending weeks 4 and/or 8 participate in "Arts Night", showcasing their art and science projects, and performing for parents and friends.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: CITs in grades 9-11 are an integral part of camp, providing leadership and receiving training while also pursuing their own interests. They create their own schedule under the guidance of dedicated CIT staff. They spend approximately half the day assisting camper groups or activities, and half the day pursuing their own interests. CITs pay a reduced rate.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Financial aid is based on need and may cover up to 50% of tuition. Financial aid applications are due by April 1. Aid is awarded by April 15. OTHER CAMP INFO: Camp Kaleidoscope offers campers a warm and nurturing place where campers make friends, learn skills, and spread creative wings, all through a Jewish lens. CITs entering grades 9-11 create their own schedule under the guidance of dedicated CIT staff. Love kids? Want to work in a creative, supportive environment? Camp Kaleidoscope is looking for staff for the summer. Staff must be available for full camp season including orientation dates unless otherwise agreed upon. Camp dates: June 29-August 21, 2020, 8:30-4:10pm, Monday through Friday. Orientation dates: June 23, 25, 26 and 28. Although camp is not easily accessible by public transportation, buses are available from Brookline, Cambridge, Framingham, Jamaica Plain, Roslindale and Wayland.

Specialists
Seeking specialists in Drama Teacher, Ceramics, General Art, Science, Technical Theater, Sports & Outdoors Activities.
Specialists teach classes daily culminating in art and science exhibits and performances at the end of each four-week session. Specialists are college graduates or rising seniors with teaching and/or other relevant experience. Competitive salary. Parents on staff full-time send their children to camp for free!

Counselors
Seeking mature, reliable, patient people who understand what it takes to make a camper's day a wonderful experience. JCC Kaleidoscope Creative Arts & Science Camp is a pluralistic camp welcoming the entire community. While camp is not easily accessible by public transportation, bus counselor positions are available from Framingham and Brookline. Counselors must be 18 years of age or older or high school graduates with demonstrated leadership skills and experience working with children. All counselors must be available for the full eight-week season.

Lower and Middle Camp Counselors work in pairs or groups of three and are responsible for a group of 10-15 campers entering grades K-3. They support and nurture campers throughout the day as campers attend activities in the arts, science, sports and swimming. Middle camp counselors may also assist in other areas throughout camp.

Upper Camp Counselors work with campers entering grades 4-8. They teach or assist in classes, activities and theatrical productions. Positions include: tennis and other sports teachers, costumer, assistant tech director for shows, guitar and piano teachers, boating specialists (lifeguard certification required), and crafts teachers. Upper Camp teaching counselors should have completed at least one year of college.

The management of iSG Camps has been operating youth sports camps for over 19 years with a high rate of customer satisfaction. They are both Harvard-educated and their 5 children were the inspiration behind the creation of this revolutionary new summer program

Brain Chase is a 6-week summer learning challenge disguised as a massive global treasure hunt for 2nd−8th graders. A golden globe has been buried somewhere on earth – and it contains the key to a safe deposit box holding a $10,000 college scholarship fund. Participants who complete an hour of online summer learning activities each day will unlock secret animated webisodes that hold the clues to the globe’s whereabouts. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our camp is a Leadership program for girls in grades 8th through 9th. Leadership opportunities as counselors and CIT's will be available for girls who attend the camp in future summers.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Moving Leaders Forward offers a mentoring program for girls who would like to continue in the program beyond the summer months. We have a team of mentors who serve as support for girls on an individual basis or in a group. In our mentoring program we offer 4 group gatherings during the year. These are fun, casual events involving; paint nights, cooking demonstrations, pumpkin carving, and themed dinners.

Moving Leaders Forward's overnight retreat is scheduled for July 8th - 10th. Cost of the program is $400 which includes room, meals, and transportation from the Boston area.

CAMP FACILITIES: We are a roller skating family fun center. 25,000 sf facility with roller skating, laser tag, indoor playground, video games and concession stand.

Katerina Romanenko, Ph.D. Assistant Director of Youth and Family Programs

An experienced educator and visual culture historian, Dr. Romanenko specializes in Museum education, art history, American History, and object-based learning in formal and informal environments. She holds a PhD in Art History from the City University of New York and for more than 15 years teaches art history and works in Museum education. She also holds a BA in Education Sciences and has experience in research, development and implementation of educational programs for different age groups.

Alicia Mino, Art Educator, Manager of the School and Community Programs

An accomplished practicing artists and art educator, Alicia Mino received her Master’s in visual communication from the Metropolitan University of Chile, She spent fifteen years in Italy studying art history, oil painting, and sculpture. She presented in numerous art exhibitions and founded the Mates Art and Design Studio, where she taught drawing, oil/acrylic painting, and sculpture fundamentals for ten years. In 2008 Alicia moved to Philadelphia where she continues to exhibit her work and teaches art.

Lindsey Murphy, Art Educator and K-8 Program Coordinator

An art educator with over a decade of experience in the field of education, Lindsey Murphy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology; concentration in Archaeology from Millersville University, and an Elementary Teaching Certification from Millersville University. She worked as a general education classroom teacher in the Oxford Area School District in Chester County, PA for 8 years, and has worked in PAFA’s education department over the past 11 years creating and implementing numerous museum tours and art making experiences for children and families of all backgrounds, becoming the K-8 Program Coordinator in 2019..

Melissa Hendrixson, Art Educator

Melissa Hendrixson is an artist and art educator who has worked in Museum Education for over five years. She has her Bachelor's of Fine Arts and Studio Certificate from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and has gained experience through assisting the coordination and development of various museum programming including family programs, youth art classes, and summer camps. She now works for the School and Community Partnership Program as an art educator where she develops and implements museum tours, school lessons, and community outreach programs to support student learning, parental engagement and visual literacy initiatives.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Jack Rua Camp for Children with Diabetes is a friendly place where youth with diabetes, their siblings and friends benefit from hands-on learning experiences in diabetes management and support within a fun and welcoming environment.

Our mission is to foster friendships among children with diabetes, their siblings and friends through a safe, active program while enabling them to learn about and face the common challenges of diabetes.

Camp Jack is Accredited by the American Camp Association and is a member of the Diabetes Education and Camping Association. Foundation Course (7th and 8th Grade)

Join us for a 2 week adventure where you will go on 3-day backpacking and canoeing trips to learn survival skills such as identifying wild foods you can eat and building a fire. See how team work makes it all possible!

Advanced Course (8th and 9th Grade)

In this 18-day session, you will paddle down a river from Vermont to New York for 3 days, and hike the Appalachian Trail to the top of Massachusetts’ highest mountain. You will also begin to discover your personal leadership abilities and how to protect the wilderness you’re enjoying

High School Leadership Training Course

CAMP FACILITIES: A secluded pastoral setting provides the exclusive soccer experience players need to take their game to the next level. Located only 30 miles north of Boston, The Brooks School in North Andover, Massachusetts boasts twelve highly maintained fields on a large lakeside campus.

Students choose from a variety of personal selections in the campus dining hall and relax in the comfortable dormitory style rooms. The majority of the rooms at Brooks are singles. Students can request to room next to a friend. We will do our best to accomodate those requests. The Vogelsinger Academy at the Brooks School complies with all the Massachusetts Genreal Program Requirments for youth camps. (105 CMR 430) and is licensed by the Town of North Andover.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our goal is to create an environment—a GAME-LIKE ATMOSPHERE—through dynamic teaching and coaching by explanation, demonstration and participation to assist each player in creating a METHOD TO SELF-TEACH.

This describes the coaches of the 2014 Soccer Skills Camp at the Academy perfectly. Their pure love for the game has driven them to be exceptional players and outstanding coaches. Their vast experience allows them to work with campers in a fun, game like environment that keeps them engaged and wanting more. When learning is fun, no one wants to stop. At the Academy's Soccer Skills Camp the phrase "Let's play" really means "Let's learn." The result is campers who truly love the game of soccer and play with all their heart.

We staff only top quality, high energy coaches. Many of them from local high schools and colleges. The majority of these coaches are USSF or NSCAA licensed. We also staff a “goalie” coach to work specifically with goal-keepers.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our indoor facilities include air-conditioned Dining Hall and classrooms, Woodshop, Ceramics Studio, Photography Studio and dark room, state of the art Performance Hall and gymnasiums. Our outdoor facilities include a heated swimming pool, three-sided, 35 foot climbing tower, high and low ropes course, turf and baseball field complex, playing fields and basketball court.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: All of our staff at Summer Fenn are 18 years or older and their talent, energy, experience, and dedication are absolutely unmatched! Most are teaching professionals and college aged students studying education or recreation.

At Summer Fenn, we are committed to guiding and celebrating our campers as they make choices about how to participate in our many programs. We challenge each camper to take responsibility for his or her own actions and attitudes, making the experience a positive one for everyone. The Summer Fenn Way is about seeking out ways to treat each other well and helping to make someone else’s day better. This is the essence of the Summer Fenn Way, and it guides everything we do.

OTHER CAMP INFO: All campers enrolled in Base Camp and Special Programs have the opportunity to participate in Electives. Electives give campers the opportunity to make choices while here at camp, whether its delving into a specific program area they enjoy or challenging themselves to try something new. Each week, campers choose from a variety of creative, active and fun activities, allowing them to tailor their own Summer Fenn experience.

CAMP FACILITIES: Housing is in basic college-style dorm rooms. Three meals a day are served in the dining hall, and snacks are available around the clock. Thompson Island features an ocean beach for swimming, hiking trails, athletic fields and equipment, and beautiful views. Sunrises and sunsets are particularly beautiful as seen from the island!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Programming consists of Scottish musical instruction during the day, and a variety of concerts, parties and sessions in the evening. We offer fiddle classes on four levels (slow, medium, fast and wicked fast!) plus piano and guitar.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our school is made up of 4 buildings. We house 70 dorm rooms, a dining hall, classrooms, library, media centers and much more. We have 6 tennis courts, an outdoor pool, fitness center, art and theater areas. Outside we are set on 100 acres of land that include forest and vast open spaces. Our barn is our pride and joy and at this point is the home to 35 school horses.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Speak Up I: Introduction to Debate and Public Speaking Camp is designed for campers who have little or no experience in speaking in front of a group. Our goals are to have fun and learn some ways to use our voices effectively.

Speak Up II: This camp is designed for high school students ready to refresh, refine, and advance their public speaking skills. Gain confidence as you learn from and with others who are seeking to enhance their voice powers/amplify their voices? in a fun, supportive environment!

Performing Arts: Campers will take part in dance, voice and theater.

Bonnie Castle Equestrian: Premiere riding camp for beginner and experienced riders. This summer we will be offering the British Horse Society Program challenge awards, where campers will work at their own pace to complete learning opportunities as equestrians.

Campers are taught by Stoneleigh-Burnham staff. Counselors for the residential programs are CPR and first aid certified as well as we complete criminal offender and sex offender background checks.

Speak Up camps are for debate and public speaking. Campers will learn the art of conversational and competitive speaking. As well as learn to use their voce for effective communication and advocacy.
