CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Champions Camps are for serious soccer players who wish to improve their individual skills and knowledge of the game while experiencing the total camp adventure. Soccer Academy has conducted Champion Camps for nearly twenty years and has tailored its programs to meet the needs of the individual player and team. The Champions Camp is a five-day camp for players from the ages of 9 to 18.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Soccer Academy began in 1981 by its founder John Ellis, in Northern Virginia with a vision to provide opportunities for young players to play, learn and enjoy soccer. John was truly a visionary of the time, designing and implementing programs that still develop players and coaches to this day. John has been inducted into the VYSA Hall of fame and recognized by NSCAA with a lifetime achievement award. John now resides in Florida, but still shares his passion for the game with those around him.

Today, Soccer Academy’s programs reach out to some 5,000 players each year. From four-year olds just learning the game, to 14-year-olds dreaming of playing for the U.S. National Team, to 18-year olds preparing for a college career, players of all abilities can benefit from a Soccer Academy program.

Many coaches have also benefited from Soccer Academy, countless members of staff have started their coaching careers, in the ranks of Soccer Academy, April Hienrichs & Jill Ellis are currently full time staff with US Soccer in roles influencing the direction of girls youth soccer in this country. Mark Godwin, Dean McAlpin, Rob Olson, Steve Lovgran, David Yates, Barry Hill, Myron King and others are all currently working as Directors of coaching in State Associations or clubs sharing the Soccer Academy philosophy and vision with its members. CAMP FACILITIES: Log cabins on the historic site of the Hewes-Kirkwood Inn dot the landscape of Rocky Ridge Music Center's 17 acres of alpine forest at the foot of Longs Peak. There are approximately 40 buildings including a main lodge, dining hall, office, and series of residential and practice cabins. The dining hall doubles as concert hall and lecture/rehearsal room. Boys residential cabins and girls residential cabins are on opposite sides of the campus with faculty residential cabins and other buildings in the middle. Trained, qualified counselors reside in the residential cabins with the students. Practice cabins are found throughout campus with pianos available in most cabins. Rocky Ridge owns a state-of-the-art water filtration system is tested daily and provides plenty of clean, mountain-fresh water on campus.

1) Youth Academy - Designed for boys and girls ages 6-10. Fun, exciting and engaging activities are all part of the week. 3) Senior Academy - Designed for High School players, including incoming freshmen, who are ready to play and be trained at the next level. . Throughout the week, players will be put in a competitive environment that will bring out their very best. Players will be exposed to the four dimensions of training, Physical, Technical, Tactical and Psychological. In our unique evening competitions, players will have the opportunity to compete against other teams, other players and themselves.

4) College Prep Academy - Our goal is to provide an incredible environment where serious soccer players will be exposed to the highest level of instruction in anticipation of playing at the highest level possible. High Performance Seminars will be led by trusted experts in their field and will include: Sports Nutrition, Soccer Specific Conditioning, ACT/SAT Preparation and Sport Psychology. Goalkeepers and field players will be exposed to an intensive training environment for those who are serious about fulfilling their potential.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This one-of-a-kind day camp focuses on improving your child’s executive functioning skills such as prioritization, organization, study skills/working memory, time management, and self-advocacy. Our approach, which requires campers to apply these academic skills to real-life situations, is easy to implement and have proven results! Campers will work in small groups to promote social skills, collaboration, and cooperation.

First, campers spend time learning these explicit, academic executive functioning skills. Then, they apply these strategies by planning and executing enjoyable activities designed to reinforce the skills including a cook-off and/or a virtual class trip. Campers also assemble a personal executive functioning kit to utilize during the school year, and create a self-advocacy presentation.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Road Less Traveled as an organization was founded by Jim and Donna Stein in 1991, and has been successfully running safe, exciting, life-changing trips for teens ever since. Both Jim and Donna are still the current directors, and are integrally involved in every single aspect of the company. In the summer, they are on call 24/7, available both to parents as well as to our leaders in the field.

We are an ACA accredited organization with an impeccable track record. We believe in the process of accreditation. It allows us to compare our standards to other professionals in the industry. Our accreditation allows us to follow specific standards related to leader screening including use of application forms, reference checks, personal interviews, work history review, and background checks.

Many years ago, we were the first company serving young adults to require that all leaders have a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) medical certification. WFR training is far more advanced than standard first aid or wilderness first aid. In addition to this certification, we carry extensive first aid kits on all of our programs that include antibiotics and epinephrine. Contents, protocols, and standing orders are reviewed and updated every year by our Medical Director who is an MD.

Since our inception, RLT has been on the cutting edge of technological advances in communication. We began carrying Iridium satellite phones on all of our programs as soon as they were available. Today we continue to carry the latest in emergency communication systems. According to geographic location, programs are equipped with satellite phones, ground-to-air radios, and/or cellular phones providing the possibility of 24-hour access to medical help in case of emergency.

Travel domestically and/or internationally with a group of high-school and/or middle-school students, monitoring and facilitating community service, language/cultural immersion, and/or wilderness adventure trips

Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree or in the process of completing a degree. Equivalent experience working with teenagers in related field will be considered if not currently enrolled in school
• Experience Previous program leader experience working with and or teaching young people age ranging in age between 12-19. Knowledge of and experience with group dynamics, teaching or facilitating groups, supervision of meal planning, food preparation and cooking, managing logistics. Ability to teach program specific skills, environmental awareness, and related scientific, cultural, and historical knowledge pertaining to the regions through which you will travel and their relationship to each other.
• Strong Physical Condition
• Current CPR for the professional rescuer
• Current Wilderness First Responder, WEMT or EMT certification
• Current Red Cross lifeguard or Swiftwater rescue certifications preferred but not mandatory

• For Adventure Programs: Knowledge of three or more wilderness travel methods. Whitewater rafting, sea kayaking, international trekking, biking, backpacking, technical rock or ice climbing and mountaineering. Mandatory requirements for adventure trips include: the ability to lead groups of students on backpacking trips of three to eight days, ability to comfortably lead through remote wilderness areas. This includes, but is not limited to, backpacking preparations, backcountry travel, route finding, campsite selection, equipment maintenance, Leave No Trace camping techniques in desert and alpine terrain and proper protocol in dense bear country.

All leaders must possess the ability to make prudent decisions in adverse conditions. International Service Learning and Language Immersion Programs: Leaders and must be highly proficient or fluent in the spoken language of the program country (Spanish, etc.) and have extensive experience with community service, international travel, managing multiple responsibilities abroad, experience and/or living abroad, cultural immersion. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We have a leadership program which we provide for our Counselors In Training who have been to camp before and are at least 16 years of age. It is lead by Director David Graf who is a teacher in the Woodland Park School District and who currently is the Student Council advisor. Elements of the program include overview of the staff manual and staff orientation materials as well as low and high ropes activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Coach Brungardt is a mathematics faculty member at the CMC campus in Leadville, CO. As much as he loves his career as a math professor, he loves coaching just as much. In 2012, he earned his Master’s degree in Coaching from Adams State University in Alamosa, CO. Brungardt coaches CMC’s running club in trail and snowshoe races from two miles to 100 miles. He has coached professionally, collegiately, and at the high school level (rugby fitness coordinator, cross country coach, and everything except pole vault and hurdles in track and field). While earning his Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in mathematics from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Coach Brungardt ran Division 1 track for the Bears. He competed in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters, earned three varsity letters, and was an academic athlete all four years. His postcollegiate running career has taken him all over the country competing in trail, road, and snowshoe races.

This camp is the perfect choice for all Minecraft players. Each camper will be given access to their private Minecraft server where they can customize the game. Students will be coding mods to create new tools, items, environments, non-playable characters, and more. It will be fun to test them out with friends!

Python (Ages 10-16)
Is your emerging coder ready to learn a professional programming language? Campers will be introduced to Python and gain experience with key concepts, such as data structures and algorithms, while building several projects. The projects may include terminal-based game, data analysis, or web scraping.

Web Development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Ages 10-16)
Instructors will introduce fundamentals of web design and development. Campers will learn how to create their own website and a web-based game. Projects can be shared with family and friends via online access through CodePen.

Arduino (Ages 10-16)
Campers will explore the world of electronics and make their first step towards building robots or self-driving cars! Create a simple circuit with an Arduino board, add LEDs and sensors, then program them in the C programming language to create an alarm, light display or a music generator!

Coding with Kids Is a multi-state computer programming academy for ages 5-16. Our mission is to inspire future generations to create software solutions for greater good. In addition to summer camps, we offer:

Girls' Empowerment Camp Schedule:

Monday: Touching in and Grounding

On the first day of camp we will be exploring how to care for the horses and how to care for ourselves. We will be doing grooming and art-work activities to explore and reflect on this important topic. In the afternoon we will work with the herd of horses and we will learn how to calm ourselves and how to safely be in relationship with the horses and each other.

Tuesday: Leadership and Embodiment

On this day we will be exploring leadership and what it means to be a leader. We will discuss personal power, body language and communication. We will spend the day working with these topics and learning to lead the horses in a safe and productive way.

Wednesday: Honesty and Conflict

On the third day of camp we will be exploring honesty and conflict. We will spend time educating the girl’s about their brain’s and their body’s reactions to fear and conflict, in an effort to teach them how to work with difficult emotions in a positive way. We will be “joining” with the horses on this day. This activity is all about honesty, connection and relationship.

Thursday: Feeling Powerful

On this day we will be working on the skills we have built so far and we will be increasing our horsemanship skills in preparation for riding on Day 5. In order to feel powerful we need to be able to calm ourselves, be a leader, and communicate honestly. We will use all of these skills in an activity with the horses, concentrating on communication, trust and self-worth.

Friday: Intimacy and Trust

The last day! On this day we will be riding all day long. We will be bringing in all of the tools we have built since Day 1 and we will be celebrating all we have learned and done in the 5 days.

Equine Therapy believes that the use of horses in therapy fosters personal growth and exploration. It has been known to assist many different people with a variety of needs and hopes in therapy.

WHY EQUINE THERAPY?

CAMP FACILITIES: The campus buildings include the original cabin erected by Charlotte Perry and Portia Mansfield almost 100 years ago. Stagebugz is a new theater camp run by sisters Aspen and Ashley Somers, both current students at the prestigious University of Southern California's School of Dramatic Arts. Aspen is an experienced actress with over 60 credits ranging from theater to feature films. She became one of the youngest directors to be nominated for a BroadwayWorld Regional Award for her play "Letters" at the age of 16. Other credits include director and executive producer of the web series "Quarantwinned", assistant director of Impulse Theater Company's "Speech and Debate", and intern/assistant stage manager for Rocky Mountain Theater for Kids.

Ashley has performed in many notable works including national commericals and TV movies. Aside from acting, she has directed everyone from first-time theatre kids in the youth program at the Town Hall Arts Center to Broadway stars in the series Quarantwinned. She also has plenty of experience working with kids as a nanny and a tutor, and she helped develop theatre curriculum for children as part of the Homework Helpers program.
