CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our summer 4-week classes develop physical health, confidence, and creativity while teaching proper dance technique.

The curriculum incorporates the Angelina Ballerina book "Angelina's Perfect Party," promoting reading and literacy.

Also included are lessons in nutrition, creating a strong healthy body, educational activity sheets, and craft projects to foster excitement among young dancers.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Beginner coding skills are taught helping children learn sequencing and terms that grown up coders use everyday to create video games and more. Math and Science activities engage your child in learning and our ARTS program helps students understand how computer artists work in the field.

CAMP FACILITIES: Hi-Five groups campers in their own "Division" by age grouping. We then form teams from these divisions and assign each a college name and a team coach. Then campers spend the day doing what they love most... playing team sports. Almost everything within an air-conditioned environment. For parents, it is about keeping their children active, healthy, and happy; but for kids summer means no school, non-stop sports, and a lot of fun. LUNCHES ARE INCLUDED FOR ALL CAMPERS.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have horses for every level of rider; saddles and bridles are provided. We have an indoor arena 60'x180' and 2 outdoor arenas, an indoor washracks, grooming stalls and tack rooms. We also have an air conditioned room where we eat lunch and watch horse films.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The camp was created in 2001 by our USHJA Certified head trainer, who manages the camp. We want to bring equestrian sports to everyone, even if just for one week. A connection with horses can do wonders for the soul.

At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harm's way by funneling them into our gate system. Eye contact is maintained from each one of our staff members until the kids make it onto the field/court where they are grouped by age. This efficient process ensures safety. CAMP FACILITIES: The indoor space is air conditioned and equipped with new filtered water bottle filling stations, restrooms, and is home to many of our activities including but not limited to: Stop motion animation, art lab, sewing (hand and machine), our relax area (think beanbag chairs, spa music, some essential oils in a diffuser from time to time books, chess, checks, etc), pool, table hockey, giant connect four, ping-pong and more! We also have access to the auditorium, cafeteria and 8 indoor classrooms.

The outdoor space includes a playground, full-size turf soccer field, lots of blacktop space for hopscotch, foursquare, chalk city and more! The entire outdoor space surrounded by an iron fence, which is locked during camp.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our fee is inclusive and covers morning and afternoon snacks, lunch and all of our offered activities, automatically. There are no extra registration steps for certain programs, no before or aftercare needed. We never leave campus so caregivers can drop off and pick up their campers whenever it is best for them within our hours of operation. We offer registration for the whole summer (best value), weekly blocks or by the day. Need just an afternoon? Snag a spot in our half-day pilot program from Noon - 6p.

The campers choose from the open activities (different activities are open at different times of day) and spend their time doing what interests them the most. All of our activities are designed to be intuitive, meaning even the youngest of campers can walk right up to the activity and get started. How? Meticulous preparation and plan ahead so that it all comes off as simple and easy to engage in.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: As fun as camping, canoeing and crafts combined, Zeno Math Camps keep the math momentum rolling all year long. How? Campers are guided through an adventure of math games, activities and experiments that reveal the fun of math! CAMP FACILITIES: 210-seat theater complete with a large stage and accessible backstage areas for rehearsals and workshops, along with a green room and dressing rooms for additional space as needed.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Join us for a week of theatre education, application, and performance at Provision Theater's Summer Camp! This musical theatre based camp is for kids ages 5 & up who are interested in taking the stage whether it's for the first time or the 100th time. Each camper will receive an authentic summer camp t-shirt along with a camp photo! DVDs of each showcase performance will be available to order, as well. Led by a staff of highly trained, nurturing professionals, daily activities include workshops in acting, dancing and singing games that further explore the principals and foundation tools learned throughout the day while strengthening collaboration and team building skills special topics workshops in areas such as scenic artistry, costuming, and makeup design to name a few...and rehearsals for an end of the week showcase performance. In addition to gaining a solid understanding of the creative process involved in putting on a production, campers will be empowered to become more self-confidant, equipped to express themselves creatively, and encouraged to make informed choices not only as artists but as budding citizens of society.

There are eight different weeks to choose from, depending on the campers ages and interests, and each week features a completely different theme and production showcase. In addition to wearing comfortable clothes that are easy to move in, all campers must wear sneakers or close-toed shoes and should pack a daily lunch, snack, and water bottle, along with a journal and pencil for taking notes throughout workshops and rehearsals. An experienced educator and visual culture historian, Dr. Romanenko specializes in Museum education, art history, American History, and object-based learning in formal and informal environments. She holds a PhD in Art History from the City University of New York and for more than 15 years teaches art history and works in Museum education. She also holds a BA in Education Sciences and has experience in research, development and implementation of educational programs for different age groups.

Alicia Mino, Art Educator, Manager of the School and Community Programs

An accomplished practicing artists and art educator, Alicia Mino received her Master’s in visual communication from the Metropolitan University of Chile, She spent fifteen years in Italy studying art history, oil painting, and sculpture. She presented in numerous art exhibitions and founded the Mates Art and Design Studio, where she taught drawing, oil/acrylic painting, and sculpture fundamentals for ten years. In 2008 Alicia moved to Philadelphia where she continues to exhibit her work and teaches art.

Lindsey Murphy, Art Educator and K-8 Program Coordinator

An art educator with over a decade of experience in the field of education, Lindsey Murphy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology; concentration in Archaeology from Millersville University, and an Elementary Teaching Certification from Millersville University. She worked as a general education classroom teacher in the Oxford Area School District in Chester County, PA for 8 years, and has worked in PAFA’s education department over the past 11 years creating and implementing numerous museum tours and art making experiences for children and families of all backgrounds, becoming the K-8 Program Coordinator in 2019..

Melissa Hendrixson, Art Educator

Melissa Hendrixson is an artist and art educator who has worked in Museum Education for over five years. She has her Bachelor's of Fine Arts and Studio Certificate from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and has gained experience through assisting the coordination and development of various museum programming including family programs, youth art classes, and summer camps. She now works for the School and Community Partnership Program as an art educator where she develops and implements museum tours, school lessons, and community outreach programs to support student learning, parental engagement and visual literacy initiatives.

Sylvia, recently returned from a successful tour of Lookingglass Alice, is a second generation circus performer who grew up touring with various circuses, including Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus. She also performed at The Circus World Championships in London, England. In 1990 she moved to Chicago and began her career as a circus teacher and choreographer. Sylvia is a co-founder of The Actors Gymnasium and an Artistic Associate of The Lookingglass Theatre Company. Other theater credits include The Lyric Opera of Chicago, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Chicago Children’s Theater, Marriott Theater, and The Steppenwolf Theatre, among others. She recently won the Illinois Theatre Association’s Award of Honor, the 3Arts award for design, and she has been nominated for six Joseph Jefferson Awards for her choreography, winning five.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Road Less Traveled as an organization was founded by Jim and Donna Stein in 1991, and has been successfully running safe, exciting, life-changing trips for teens ever since. Both Jim and Donna are still the current directors, and are integrally involved in every single aspect of the company. In the summer, they are on call 24/7, available both to parents as well as to our leaders in the field.

We are an ACA accredited organization with an impeccable track record. We believe in the process of accreditation. It allows us to compare our standards to other professionals in the industry. Our accreditation allows us to follow specific standards related to leader screening including use of application forms, reference checks, personal interviews, work history review, and background checks.

Many years ago, we were the first company serving young adults to require that all leaders have a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) medical certification. WFR training is far more advanced than standard first aid or wilderness first aid. In addition to this certification, we carry extensive first aid kits on all of our programs that include antibiotics and epinephrine. Contents, protocols, and standing orders are reviewed and updated every year by our Medical Director who is an MD.

Since our inception, RLT has been on the cutting edge of technological advances in communication. We began carrying Iridium satellite phones on all of our programs as soon as they were available. Today we continue to carry the latest in emergency communication systems. According to geographic location, programs are equipped with satellite phones, ground-to-air radios, and/or cellular phones providing the possibility of 24-hour access to medical help in case of emergency.

Travel domestically and/or internationally with a group of high-school and/or middle-school students, monitoring and facilitating community service, language/cultural immersion, and/or wilderness adventure trips

Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree or in the process of completing a degree. Equivalent experience working with teenagers in related field will be considered if not currently enrolled in school
• Experience Previous program leader experience working with and or teaching young people age ranging in age between 12-19. Knowledge of and experience with group dynamics, teaching or facilitating groups, supervision of meal planning, food preparation and cooking, managing logistics. Ability to teach program specific skills, environmental awareness, and related scientific, cultural, and historical knowledge pertaining to the regions through which you will travel and their relationship to each other.
• Strong Physical Condition
• Current CPR for the professional rescuer
• Current Wilderness First Responder, WEMT or EMT certification
• Current Red Cross lifeguard or Swiftwater rescue certifications preferred but not mandatory
• Current unrestricted valid drivers license with no major convictions during the previous three year period; driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, hit and run, homicide or assault with a motor vehicle, drag racing, operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent, license suspended or revoked within the previous three year period for accidents and or moving violations. Driving record should reflect no more than three moving violations and/or chargeable accidents during the previous three years

• For Adventure Programs: Knowledge of three or more wilderness travel methods. Whitewater rafting, sea kayaking, international trekking, biking, backpacking, technical rock or ice climbing and mountaineering. Mandatory requirements for adventure trips include: the ability to lead groups of students on backpacking trips of three to eight days, ability to comfortably lead through remote wilderness areas. This includes, but is not limited to, backpacking preparations, backcountry travel, route finding, campsite selection, equipment maintenance, Leave No Trace camping techniques in desert and alpine terrain and proper protocol in dense bear country.

All leaders must possess the ability to make prudent decisions in adverse conditions. International Service Learning and Language Immersion Programs: Leaders and must be highly proficient or fluent in the spoken language of the program country (Spanish, etc.) and have extensive experience with community service, international travel, managing multiple responsibilities abroad, experience and/or living abroad, cultural immersion. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Swift Nature Camp is an overnight nature camp for boys and girls ages 6-15. Our focus is to blend traditional summer camp activities while increasing a child's appreciation for nature, science and the environment.

Our special Discovery Camp is a nurturing program for first-time overnight campers, offering additional staff to provide support and encouragement to overcome homesickness and build confidence. Swift Nature Camp offers traditional summer camp activities along with an environmental focus. CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Students may apply for a need based scholarship. Scholarship is based on a lot of factors including availability of funds. Application does not guarantee a scholarship. Eligibility Criteria: Must be a student living in the U.S., must have a copy of the most recent U.S. IRS Tax Return. Preference will be given to student recommendations by Partner Schools. Our Nonprofit DataEthics4All 501(c)(3) EIN 85-3148963 provides need based Scholarships to Students to participate in the STEAM in AI Program based on the availability of funds.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Start a STEAM in AI Chapter to find all year round opportunities for students to learn artificial intelligence and ethics, leadership and volunteering. CAMP FACILITIES: Our overnight camps house campers in an air-conditioned and wi-fi capable dorm rooms that were renovated in 2012. Gymnasiums are also air conditioned and have the capabilities to hold 8 total courts.

Dining halls offer campers choice of dining with hot and cold foods as well as a salad buffet.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: NIU's head coach, Ray Gooden, is a three time MAC coach of the year.

We offer a few different camp options...

Specialty Clinics run on Sundays from 9-3pm. Campers choose to work on specific skills (Attacking, Setting, or Passing). Specialty clinics cover 5 hours of instruction with NIU Camp Staff and end by combining all skills for some pass to attack.

All-Skills Camps can be overnight or day camps with multiple sessions a day. The camps cover all volleyball skills and culminates in tournament play for all campers.

Elite Camp is for players who want to play and train like a Huskie. The camp is for higher level volleyball players with drills moving at a faster pace and designed with higher intensity for a greater challenge.

Serve and Pass Clinic (NEW)
This clinic will cover two of the most essential skills in volleyball - the first contact. Our goal is to provide campers with new techniques to enhance their serve and serve receive skills.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:

CAMP FACILITIES: We have 5 studios located in the historic Dearborn Station, next to a park and playground where the children have daily recess weather permitting.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Students receive exposure to a variety of dance styles. The day begins with floor ballet, a low impact strengthening and toning class which improves flexibility and stamina. Daily classes include ballet, jazz, African or Latin dance and visual arts. At the end of each day the students go out to the park for recess and free play.

On Wednesday students go on field trips or have a special activity planned. At the end of the session students perform in a recital that showcases all of the skills they have learned over the summer.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: CMDC also offers year-round dance classes for kids starting at age 3. Classes include classical ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, African, Latin and Hip Hop. Adult dance and exercise classes too!

Our campers are surrounded by a diverse and extremely talented staff of teachers and counselors who encourage campers to learn in a variety of ways. We offer a program rich in teaching styles, and we strive to connect personally with all of the children in the program.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Summer Camp at the Old Town School is an enriching, exciting, and educational way for your child to experience the summer in Chicago! The program includes music education, visual arts, theater, dance, movement, social studies, science, history, outdoor play, and more. Our summer camp environment is one in which children will learn to think independently, work cooperatively, and discover their own creativity. We encourage our campers to work both individually and in groups, thereby learning to appreciate other's skills as well as their own.
