CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Music/Band, Team Sports, and more. This Is A Flute Camp. In-depth Exploration Of Flute Playing, Flute Repertoire, & Related Issues, Such As Audition Skills & Performance Anxiety Are Addressed By Faculty & A Performance Coach. A Yoga Instructor Will Also Participate In 2014.

CAMP LOCATION: We are located in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The Immaculate Heart of Mary Retreat and Conference Center is the perfect, comfortable and safe location for participants. Room and board rates are excellent. The forty-acre property also has access to hiking trails, and the facility is just minutes from the Santa Fe Plaza by car. The IHM Chapel, where all classes and performances take place, is acoustically and logistically ideal for a music masterclass. The entire facility and faculty are supportive and welcoming.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our 2014 faculty includes Bart Feller (principal flute, Santa Fe Opera and the New Jersey Symphony, Professor of Flute, Rutgers University, graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music), Susan Levitin, (one of the top master teachers of flute in the United States, founder of the Chicago Ensemble, Verne Q. Powell Recording Studio Artist, graduate of the Eastman School of Music), Linda Marianiello (Artistic Director of Santa Fe Flute Immersion, internationally recognized flute soloist and chamber musician, recording artist (Bavarian Radio and MSR Classics), Verne Q. Powell Recording Studio Artist, and master teacher who has taught classes throughout the U.S., Europe and in Mainland China, graduate of Yale College and CUNY-Brooklyn College).

A performance coach and psychologist, Denise Wilder, is also on faculty in 2014. Workshops change annually, and this year's are: Overcoming Stage Fright, Orchestral Coaching and Practice Auditions, Phrasing in a Nutshell, Musicality: Getting Beyond the Printed Page, and Sight-Reading Excellence. A yoga coach will also lead the entire class, both performers and auditors, in morning exercises.

Bill Epstein is our excellent pianist. Bill works with performers in private coaching and in evening classes. He performs with the class in the closing concert on July 6, 2014, which is free and open to the public.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Participants bond beautifully in the course of the week-long event. Many parents and families join us for the closing concert and dinner on the last day of Flute Immersion.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Some participants perform during the regular concert season in the Immaculate Heart Chapel. We keep in touch via the Santa Fe Flute Immersion Facebook page. Skype and in-person study/coaching available year round.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:

Classes are from Tuesday morning, July 1, to Sunday evening, July 6, with the closing concert and dinner on July 6 beginning at 5 pm. All fees are listed on the application form, which is available upon request. Scholarship assistance is available and is based on need.

Performers are accepted from age 14. College students, professionals, teachers, and other musicians/auditors welcome.

CAMP FACILITIES: There are options to stay overnight in two secure dormitories. Both double and single rooms are available in a variety of price ranges. Breakfast and lunch are plentiful in the on-site dining hall. Dinner is off-site, and there are many conveniently located, reasonably priced restaurants within a short driving distance of the Retreat Center. Our Teaching Artists are accomplished in their diverse fields and maintain professional artistic careers. CAMP FACILITIES: Our beautiful rustic facilities help create the unique experiences for our campers - many of whom have not spent time away from electronics and "civilization."

Our great hall and most of our cabins were built in the 1920's and 30's. Our cabins have a 1/2 wall in the front - letting our campers feel like they are sleeping in canopy of the ponderosa pine forest.

We also have equestrian facilities, an archery course, an Arts and Crafts center, and areas for campfires and cooking outdoors.

Because we are adjacent to the Lincoln National Forest, we have access to remote wilderness for our hiking and camping activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Mary White was founded in 1927 as one of the first Girl Scout camps in the country. Since then, countless girls and women have had the opportunity to experience the beauty, and challenges, of the outdoors. We strive to create programming that encourages community-building and risk-taking so that our girls leave camp feeling connected and empowered.

Our staff is trained in camper management, outdoor skills, and team-building. All of our staff are certified in 1st Aid/CPR, and members of our staff are also certified in Wilderness First Aid. We have an RN on site who handles day-to-day and minor health needs and a partnership with local emergency response teams if needed.

CIT's participate in all camp activities while also receiving training in leadership, camp traditions, outdoor skills, emergency procedures, etc. The CIT's have a chance to practice their leadership skills by planning special events for the younger campers.

CIT's are assigned to a unit of campers and function as "junior counselor" under the supervision and guidance of the Unit Leader and the CIT Director.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We currently have camp scholarships, given by a private donor, for any girl living in Eddy County, NM.

Don't let lack of funding keep your girl from coming to camp. We often have other scholarships available. Please contact us for more information.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our beautiful rustic facilities help create the unique experiences for our campers - many of whom have not spent time away from electronics and "civilization."Our great hall and most of our cabins were built in the 1920's and 30's. Our cabins have a 1/2 wall in the front - letting our campers feel like they are sleeping in canopy of the ponderosa pine forest.We also have equestrian facilities, an archery course, an Arts and Crafts center, and areas for campfires and cooking outdoors.Because we are adjacent to the Lincoln National Forest, we have access to remote wilderness for our hiking and camping activities.CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Mary White was founded in 1927 as one of the first Girl Scout camps in the country. Since then, countless girls and women have had the opportunity to experience the beauty, and challenges, of the outdoors. We strive to create programming that encourages community-building and risk-taking so that our girls leave camp feeling connected and empowered.Our staff is trained in camper management, outdoor skills, and team-building. All of our staff are certified in 1st Aid/CPR, and members of our staff are also certified in Wilderness First Aid. PGC Basketball offers game-changing basketball camps for boys and girls entering grades 4 through 12, with locations coast to coast in the United States and Canada. Plus, coaches attend PGC too!

Each summer, 10,000 players from middle school to college attend a PGC Basketball camp or Skills Academy. PGC is for dedicated players who truly want to get better and players of all positions are welcome!

On our exciting, supervised educational travel programs, individuals learn new skills, make lifelong friends and explore extraordinary cultures in United States and abroad.

SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Camp Wego is a Travel camp serving teens and adult with special needs ages 14-65. We are a small travel special needs camp that travel in the United States and abroad. We are able to provide low staffing ratios, 1 to 4. (1:1 if needed) We have highly credentialed and experienced staff so each individuals needs are met. We add new and innovative travel and activities each year.

Our travel is designed to enhance social, friendship, culture, and other vital life skills that promote independence. Camp Wego helps travelers make new friends while traveling in a safe, fun and educational environment.

We offer high-quality supervised tours for teens and adults with special needs year around. Our travel programs are specialized for individuals with Developmental Disabilities, Autism, Learning Disabilities, ADHD and Asperger's syndrome.

Individuals must be ambulatory and be able to take care of personal hygiene needs.

CAMP LOCATION: Inner Journeys Wilderness Camp is located on The Retreat, a historic 160 acre homestead in a remote mountain valley completely surrounded by the pristine wilderness of the Gila National Forest. The San Francisco river runs through the entire property. This working farm has over twenty acres of irrigated fields, an organic garden, its own hydroelectric power system, a refreshing pond, and soft, sweet mountain spring water. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: These camps are run by experienced woman guides. All of us who are on staff at Inner Journeys went to camp as young girls. We had the experience of loving camp so much we pined for it the rest of the year, but it remained independent from the rest of our lives. When we founded Inner Journeys, our goal was that every girl would return home able to internally hold her camp experience and make use of it in navigating normal life, rather than it slipping away into just a memory. Inner Journeys will give your daughter more than a great experience. As long-term educators we knew we needed to go beyond the great experience the campers have and provide the important skills that will help each girl improve her relationship to her entire education and life.
