CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Widely recognized throughout the midwest as Ohio's premier summer camp since 1959, Falcon Camp offers a beautiful lakefront setting, a talented experienced staff and a wide variety of activities. Falcon provides an atmosphere that encourages young people to grow in spirit, skills, understanding, relationships, and attitudes. Fun for Now, Skills for Life is not just a catchy logo phrase but truly defines what Falcon is about. Camp is designed for boys and girls ages 6 - 16 in 2,4,6 or 8 week sessions. Each day campers choose their own schedule within a general framework.

Daily activities are separate for boys and girls with planned coed events. Riding, sailing, swimming, riflery, crafts, tennis, drama, archery, mountain biking and so many more activities are offered. Instruction from beginner to advanced is offered in each activity. We have a strong reputation for making sure a camper's first overnight experience is very positive. Our non-competitive environment is inviting to campers who may be hesitant to try something they have never done before, while our awards system challenges our most experienced campers. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Active Learning Services, Ltd operates enrichment programs designed to stimulate creative thinking, improve thinking, logic and memory skills and give children "thinking alternatives" to sports camps and other summer programs. Our programs include chess programs and camps thru USA Chess, Our Gamebuilder Video Game Creation Programs and our Active Learning Computer Enrichment Programs.

Our staff is, comprised of the best children's chess instructors in North America! The USA Chess camps are uniquely qualified to cater to the needs of the advanced scholastic player as well as the true beginner. USA Chess hit its first milestone in the summer of 2000 producing the largest chess camp ever held in the United States, with more than 250 students enrolled. What was most surprising, however, was the amount of absolute beginners in attendance - more than 50% of the total enrollment was just starting to play chess. This realization led to the national rollout tour of 100 camps in more than 70 cities. The annual tours have been immensely successful with several thousand campers attending this year alone.

USA Chess thrives on providing a structured environment that is extremely conducive to learning chess. We handpick the best children's chess instructors from all over the United States and bring them to each camp. We believe our team is most effective in teaching chess to children of all ages and levels. The exceptional organization and ever-fun curriculum has fueled much interest from scholastic players and coaches from around the country, prompting them to request USA Chess camps in their areas.

At the same summer camp locations, we also offer the immensely popular Gamebuilder Video Game Creation Camps, The Active Learning Computer Animation Programs, and other Computer Enrichment Programs such as Modding, Networking and Hosting with Minecraft. We now offer seven unique programs in all.

At these camps, children are assigned a computer for the week; they spend the week learning to create their own one-of- a- kind video games in our Gamebuilder Camps, Animation Projects in our Animation Camps, also Modding, Networking and Hosting with Minecraft.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: About the Highbrook Camp Program:

Our philosophy is simple: All people have abilities and our mission is to enable children and adults to realize their full potential through the recreation activities at Highbrook.

Safety is paramount to this mission. Our leader screening includes a criminal background check through the Ohio Bureau of Criminal investigation. All staff participates in a week-long orientation with sessions about sighted guide techniques, accessibility for people who are blind and visually impaired, and CPR and First Aid certification. Emergency drill training and procedures include weather, fire, injury, and lost camper. Children are always supervised by counselor teams, and attendance is taken several times daily. We have a resident Registered Nurse to dispense medication and carry out physician-ordered treatments for conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and glaucoma, to address possible emergencies, and to educate about wellness. Geauga County Hospital is literally within walking distance. Each year we communicate with the sheriff, fire, and police departments in the area to announce our summer arrival. We are grateful for their service and assistance in maintaining a very safe environment at Highbrook Lodge.

We ask to be partners with parents in our efforts to provide a safe camp experience for their children. Our application provides ample space to provide information related to a child’s special needs including vision, behavior, health, and diet. Please be as thorough and complete with information as possible. No tidbit is too trivial when a child becomes homesick, displays anxiety or anger, or has difficulty ‘fitting’ in. In the event of injury or incidents we call home to ask your advice and inform you of any unusual circumstances. When you arrive to pick up your child at the end of their camp session our goal is that you will not have any surprises about their care.

Our program for children is structured and progressive. Our day begins at 7:00 A.M. and progresses through meals, 3- 6 activity periods depending on age group, evening program, and cabin time. Our campers are kept busy and active throughout the day and usually are ready for bed at night. Our activities and procedures are based on traditional camp experiences to instill confidence and build self-esteem, enable peer support and getting along with others in a diverse world, and trying new things and mastering old skills. Campers are challenged to be as independent as possible, make decisions about activities, make choices in their day, help others, and be active.

Every effort is taken to help a child have a successful camp experience, but we will not force a child to endure a full session if they are overwhelmed by homesickness or other anxiety.

From time to time children and teens test the limits of authority and disciplinary actions need to be imposed. Highbrook Lodge staff will first discuss and correct inappropriate behavior. If behavior is not corrected (and it most often is) and depending on the situation, a child may receive a brief time-out from an activity (never sent to their cabin or away from the group), a loss of privilege such as the camp store, or a proactive assignment such as providing extra help during cabin clean-up (but never to clean the cabin alone, for example). Corporal punishment, cabin hazing, initiations and the like are forbidden at Highbrook Lodge and should be reported immediately to the Camp Director if reported by a camper to their parents. We ask parents to discuss the golden rule with children prior to coming to camp and reinforce their need to listen and obey, get along with others, ask permission from their counselors, mind their manners, and respect others’ person and property.

Campers will be sent home for threatening physical or verbal behavior toward others, inappropriate or sexual advances, bringing alcohol, illicit drugs, weapons, or offensive materials to camp, refusing to participate or follow directions, stealing, or destruction of property.

Registration for Highbrook Lodge is required. Applications are requested no later than June 1st. As sessions tend to fill rapidly, applications are accepted on a first-come first serve basis.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Financial aid application is available in camp registration packet.

We recognize the benefits of sports participation for youth. We work with athletes of all levels. Our priority is to get children involved in physical activity and to help alleviate the ‘couch potato’ mentality that many young people are faced with. Being involved in our program gives children a sense of belonging, achievement and success that they can then take with them and use in their everyday lives.

Our camps and programs are offered locally throughout over 500 communities. For Detailed Information on ALL of our summer sports camps, please visit our website at Our Camp Website Link: www.skyhawks.com.

Our coaches and site directors make a significant difference to your child's on-field experience. Chosen for their strong personal character, responsibility, and capacity to effectively communicate sports skills to youth, our staff will make the extra effort every time to ensure that your children have the best on-field/court experience, emphasize teamwork, and learn life skills through sports. OTHER CAMP INFO: Skyhawks Sports Camps are SAFETY FOCUSED!

At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harm's way by funneling them into our gate system. Eye contact is maintained from each one of our staff members until the kids make it onto the field/court where they are grouped by age. This efficient process ensures safety. Additionally, it develops a level of trust between parent, coach, and child that ultimately leads to a fun and skill-focused camp for youth.

Our camp hosts deciduous and evergreen forests, meadows, a lake, streams, and one of the clearest creeks in the state with over 40 different species of fish inhabiting its waters. Within our forests are some stunning geological formations.

Camp is an explorer’s paradise! There are cliffs, caverns, creeks, nooks and crannies to investigate. There is a lake for fishing and a large field for activities.

We have a recreation/dining hall, craft room, garden, lake for canoeing/kayaking and fishing, pool for swimming, and garden.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Wyandot, Inc. was founded as a Camp Fire Council in 1913. In 1928, the council became an Ohio nonprofit corporation and purchased Camp Wyandot in the Hocking Hills. As of April 31, 2013, Camp Wyandot, Inc. became an independent organization and is no longer affiliated with Camp Fire.

Today, Camp Wyandot serves boys and girls with summer day and overnight camps and our Wyandot Explorers Club program.
Camp Wyandot provides an inclusive nurturing environment for youth to have fun, make friends, serve others, and explore the great outdoors.

Young people are interdependent with the natural world, yet know relatively little about it through direct experience. Through our overnight and day camp programs, we encourage development of natural senses and provide an intimate connection with nature while youth learn leadership, cooperation with others, and community responsibility while building self-awareness and forming friendships.

Camp Wyandot Overnight and Day Camps are offered during the summer for youths of all ages and include activities such as outdoor skills, camp outs, creeking, hiking, crafts, swimming/swimming lessons, kayaking/canoeing, archery, and special themed programs. We offer leadership programs at both our overnight and day camps. Currently, our day camp program is held at Highbanks Metro Park. We have American Camp Association (ACA) Accreditation which means that Camp Wyandot has undergone a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of its operation — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management.

Camp Wyandot’s overall goal is to provide a quality experience that builds competencies and creates positive life-long memories in a safe and supportive environment.

In an inclusive, engaging, and challenging environment, youth will:

-Increase their social and cultural competencies and feel a sense of belonging
-Develop leadership, teamwork, and cooperation skills
-Increase self-confidence, independence and empowerment
-Plan, make choices, reflect and learn from their decisions
-Build a life-long appreciation and respect for the outdoor environment
-Develop a sense of respect, responsibility and contribution to their community
-Be involved in rich group experiences that are inherently interesting and fun
-Be recognized for their accomplishments

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: A CIT (counselor in training) is a camper enrolled in a specialized leadership program which is designed to build up behavior management, risk management/safety awareness, communication, decision making, team building, and interdependency within a community.

The program aims to utilize this combination of skills to develop effective future leaders. A CIT should gain not only greater confidence and sense of accomplishment, but also a variety of skills and knowledge that will help them develop as competent leaders in all walks of life, not just a camp setting. The program accepts a limited number of applicants per session.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Payment assistance/camperships available. Application deadline April 15.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Fourth of July Family Celebration - Join in a special family camp program with your whole family in your own cabin. To meet social needs the camp provides an opportunity for each camper to contribute to and receive from a group living experience. The aim is to help campers make their own right decisions, stimulate creativity and foster independence. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We only accept serious players with previous competitive soccer experience. Every year talented players attend our camps and challenge each other to the limit, growing in skill and experience. A number of our campers have experienced training trials with professional clubs in Holland. Our programs are designed to help players achieve their maximum potential through progressive exercises that are individually challenging, as well as appropriate to the age and ability of each player.

We fly in our coaches directly from the Netherlands. They are not merely coaches: they are also teachers. Many of our coaches have graduated from a four- year CIOS College. At the Central Institution of Sports, coaches not only received their coaching licenses from the global leader in soccer development: KNVB (Royal Dutch Soccer Federation) but also learn how to work with, encourage and incentivize young athletes. Every camp group will have the same Dutch coach for the entire week. Our coaches will get to know each of the players in their group and can coach them individually, assessing their needs and improving the specific areas best for them.
