CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Teen Camp at EVCT is a chance for teens to learn and fine tune skills in performing of Broadway shows with emphasis on the kids roles from Broadway musicals. Taught by professional actors, choreographers and musicians, the camp creates an atmosphere of learning and encouragement in expanding their skills for performing on stage.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation’s innovative Summer Art and Architecture Camps give students the opportunity to think and work outside the box. Located at Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter home and desert laboratory, the Summer Art and Architecture Camps will encourage students to explore, create, and design in the significant setting. Students will see how their unique ideas can have a true impact on the world around them, as they engage in the fun and educational activities.

Full and half-day camps are offered to students in grades 2-12 throughout the summer, but the Foundation offers year-round education opportunities and field trips to the National Historic Landmark.

Architectural Discovery

While in the Architectural Discovery camp, younger students will explore various aspects of architecture and learn about some of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous architectural concepts. Architecture-based activities and projects will promote the students’ creativity and imagination, while explaining the different patterns in nature and how the patterns influence architecture. Students become junior architects as they use art, math, science, and language to create innovative spaces. This immersive program takes students through the steps of architectural creation – from concept to execution – of a fully detailed three-dimensional model of their own compact dream space. Dealing with the needs and desires of clients, environmental and sustainability concerns, and questions about color and style are part of the daily life of an architect. Photographing Wright

The landmark architecture of Taliesin West is the backdrop for a weeklong photographic journey. Local Arizona photographer Andrew Pielage will guide students in capturing the Sonoran Desert and National Historic Landmark around them. Students learn the tools needed to best utilize a camera including aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, while applying creative approaches to composition, image framing, and the challenges of light and shadow. (Limited to 10 students) Students must provide their own fully manual camera and corresponding USB cable. It is highly encouraged that students provide their own laptop for editing photographs.

CAMP FACILITIES: Paradise Valley Christian is a beautiful facility with an awesome gym, field space and shaded lunch area. We transport campers by bus to Melrose Paradise Valley Recreation Club for swimming lessons and free swim.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Hubbard Sports Camp, established in 1998, is a co-ed multi-sport summer camp offering one week sessions to campers 4 1/2 to 13 years old. Hubbard offers sports and games to meet the interests and skill levels of our campers in a safe, nurturing, structured environment. CAMP FACILITIES: Embry Riddle Aeronautical University has everything needed to operate a soccer training program at the highest level. The campus has a large lighted grass field for training and games. The field has thick grass that is well maintained by the college staff. Adjacent to the field are two sand volleyball courts that can be used for goalkeeper training or just a casual free time game of sand soccer. Lights on the field allow for added time in the evening for scrimmages. Rest room facilities are next to the field. The camp also provides a Certified Athletic Trainer at the field to professionally treat any injuries that may occur.

Campers live in the modern air-conditioned dorm on the college campus and are housed two per room. Each suite has a refrigerator for keeping drinks cold. Each suite of three rooms has its own bathroom and shower facilities. The dorms also have laundry facilities. The new dining hall on campus provides three meals each day prepared by Sodexo Food Services. Plenty of options are available, including vegetarian and gluten free.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona, has served as the home for the Arizona Soccer Camp since 2007. The site’s 5,400 feet altitude makes it the perfect facility for preseason training. The campus has everything needed to operate a soccer training program at the highest level. Camp consists of a full week of training, games and fun challenges. There are penalty kick competitions, Soccer Olympics, Super Soccer, and the Styro Cup Challenge. At the end of the week, each camper sits down with their coach and receives a full written evaluation to help prepare for the new season.

CAMP FACILITIES: In 2008, Childsplay officially opened the Sybil B. Harrington Campus for Imagination and Wonder, a 33,000 square foot support facility. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Coach Cummins and Coach Orona bring a combined 41 years of coaching to Arizona Sports Camp. This includes the four years that Coach Cummins spent with the 2004 Championship San Antonio Spurs. CAMP FACILITIES: We have three class rooms and all of the necessary materials and supplies for all of the campers who participate in the program.

This is the eighth year of our Imagination Theatre Camp for young children. We want to give each child an opportunity to explore, create and learn about theatre and musical theatre while having a great time.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our camps are indoors and utilizes the space in order to rotate games and activities for the younger group and the older kids group. 40 minutes on and 15 minutes rest is the typical rotation time but down time and up time is adjusted based on activity levels of the participants and instructors.

Snacks: B.E.S.T. will serve fresh fruit for morning and/or afternoon snacks daily. This has been cleared as a nut free snack by all who have been concerned. We encourage you to pack one snack for half day campers and 2 snacks for full day campers if your children do not like this. Lunch: We will be eating lunch every day at 12:00pm-1:00pm. Please supply your child with a sack lunch daily with their name on the sack along with an ice pack inside if required and certainly if they are picky

A.M. HALF DAY KIDS: DO NOT NEED TO bring a LUNCH! ALL AM Kids and FULL DAY kids get fed.

Friday Lunch: Do not pack a sack lunch on Fridays! It is a special FREE PIZZA FRIDAY! FREE for all our full-day campers! Please DO supply a sack lunch if your child does not eat pizza. They will each receive 2 full slices of pizza so if they require a lot more nourishment please pack some additional food. Should half day campers want to join us they will be charged an additional $5 for this additional hour. Drinks: Water is the only beverage we supply each day. Your child’s water bottle will be replenished with bottled water throughout the day (and is always available through our water fountain) so they always remain hydrated.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We welcome C.I.T.'s (Counselors in Training) 14-15 year olds to join us in Camp to facilitate our Senior instructors. This is an unpaid position but one to learn how to facilitate, lead and care for children in this sports camp setting.

Founded in 1947, the Phoenix Boys Choir offers programs featuring training in voice, music theory, and performance for boys age 7 to 14. Members of the Phoenix Boys Choir receive a world-class music education and one of the most significant experiences of their lives.

The Artistic Staff at the Phoenix Boys Choir includes music educators who are not only certified and highly qualified music education instructors, with a specific focus on choral music, they are also artists themselves and engender a love of the arts to our students.

The Choir has performed with the Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera, Phoenix Chorale, Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix, collaborated with Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Musical Instrument Museum, Phoenix Youth Symphony and the Desert Botanical Garden. CAMP FACILITIES: We have a wet darkroom facility, classroom, lighting studio, digital printing and scanning area, and an alternative photographic process area.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: In this workshop teen students explore the fundamentals and foundations of photography with fun photo projects every day!

Students will gain an overview of photographic techniques from digital capture and printing to using black and white film in the darkroom and historical processes.

Using both digital and film cameras, students will print in the digital lab and in the darkroom, and experiment with hand-coated alternative photographic methods. They will use the lighting studio to experiment with strobes and continuous lighting.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Arizona Science Center’s CAMP INNOVATION will inspire and engage curious minds about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) learning all year long. Camps vary throughout the year from biology, robotics to coding, there is a camp for ages 3-14.

In this completely hands-on, fun summer camp, you’ll use science and the Engineering Design Process to formulate a new beauty product that helps solve problems. You’ll then get the skinny on how to brand your new product, how to price it competitively and how to get it to the marketplace. Plus, you’ll learn how to create your marketing and advertising collateral as you set out to reach your target market and get people to buy.

CAMP FACILITIES: Fields

The campus has a large lighted grass field for training and games. The field has thick grass that is well maintained by the college staff. Adjacent to the field are two sand volleyball courts that can be used for goalkeeper training or just a casual free time game of sand soccer. Lights on the field allow for added time in the evening for scrimmages. Rest room facilities are next to the field. The camp also provides a Certified Athletic Trainer at the field to professionally treat any injuries that may occur.

Dorms
Campers live in the modern air-conditioned dorm on the college campus. Campers are housed two per room. Each suite has a refrigerator for keeping drinks cold. Each suite of three rooms has its own bathroom and shower facilities. The dorms also have laundry facilities.

Dining Hall
The new dining hall on campus provides three meals each day prepared by Sodexo Food Services. Choices include: salad bar, sandwich central, hamburgers and pizza. There is always a choice of main courses and there are Italian and Mexican food nights. The dining hall can also accommodate vegetarian and gluten free diets. Ice water is available at every meal so campers can fill their water containers and take them to the field to have iced water during training sessions. The campers also get evening snacks before lights out.

Student Union
As part of the boarding campers’ evening recreation program, you can choose to go the Embry Riddle’s Student Union. The facility has TV’s video games, air hockey, pool tables, ping pong, and foosball.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO:

Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona, has served as the home for the Arizona Soccer Camp since 2007. The site’s 5,400 feet altitude makes it the perfect facility for preseason training. The campus has everything needed to operate a soccer training program at the highest level. Camp consists of a full week of training, games and fun challenges. There are penalty kick competitions, Soccer Olympics, Super Soccer, and the Styro Cup Challenge. At the end of the week, each camper sits down with their coach and receives a full written evaluation to help prepare for the new season. Free time is filled with a swim at the campus pool or a visit to the recreation room to play some ping-pong, foosball, or compete on the camp's video games.

Our campers have won high school championships, state cups, NCAA, NAIA, and junior college national championships. They have also competed on state select, USYSA regional, U.S. Junior National, and U.S. World Cup teams. Our coaching staff has included 34 college coaches, 23 foreign professional players, and 17 American pros.

CAMP FACILITIES: The on-site casita village is composed of 28 rustic, Santa Fe-style houses. Each casita has multiple, private bedrooms that share a central living room and large kitchen (although all meals and snacks are provided in a central location for the 2017 Biosphere 2 Summer Science Academy). Bathrooms are generally shared (suite-style) among a couple of bedrooms. The oversized rooms feature high-speed, wireless internet access and central air conditioning.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Student participants will learn and practice science 'under-the-glass', participating in hands-on research projects in the Biosphere 2 biomes: tropical rainforest, savanna, ocean, mangrove marsh, and coastal fog desert. Participants will apply scientific skills to conduct experiments and collect data while working side-by-side with Biosphere 2 researchers. The week will culminate with presentations of research findings. All instruction and activities are conducted in English.

The ratio of researchers/counselors to students is at least 1:8. The Academy staff also includes UA Outreach Scholars who will chaperone the casitas. The Outreach Scholars are college undergraduate and graduate students drawn from the University of Arizona.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: In this one-week intensive program, students will learn vocal technique, musical theatre dance, acting, improv, tap, and theater etiquette. CAMP FACILITIES: CEDO's field station is located in the Las Conchas housing development, the “Jewel of Sonora”. CEDO’s campus sits atop one of the highest dunes east of the town center of Rocky Point, and is outlined by an elegant sinuous wall and entry gate. The main edifice is constructed in the Spanish architectural style with an open patio courtyard and a wrap around balcony overlooking the Sea of Cortez. There is a boys' room and a girls' room on the balcony level, where the children sleep in their own sleeping bag on sleeping pads provided by CEDO. The facilities have ample bathrooms, a large kitchen and a laboratory.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer has an adventure in store for you: an adventure in marine biology! CEDO’s Wet Feet Ocean Camp is an overnight summer camp for youth ages 9-12. For five days and four nights children will explore the Upper Gulf of California intertidal zone and surrounding Sonoran Desert. Accommodations will be provided at the CEDO field station in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico. The cost is $515, with an optional (additional) $100 island cruise to Isla San Jorge. We ask you to make a $100 reservation deposit as soon as possible for each child attending the camp.

Campers will explore the marine biology of the Upper Gulf of California through both field study and hands-on activities. Uncovering brittle stars, nudibranchs, and octopi in the intertidal zone; dancing for shrimp in the estuary; discovering the secrets of different marine organisms that live in this biologically rich area — these are only a few of the activities in which the campers will participate.

Counselors with experience in marine biology and desert ecology, and trained in First Aid and CPR, will staff the camp. All food and beverages (including purified water) will be provided for campers on site. Campers will have the opportunity to visit downtown Rocky Point (Puerto Peñasco) and should bring some spending money, but will spend the majority of their time in the field, or at CEDO.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Family members may join the island cruise for an additional cost per person. On the last day of camp, family members are invited to see the campers' presentations, followed by lunch (at an additional nominal cost per family member).

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: A casual visitor to CEDO may enjoy a self-guided tour of our botanical garden, take a close up look at our 55 foot fin whale skeleton, browse the books and treasures in our gift shop and more.

CEDO also offers unique opportunities to explore the sea and desert through our NaturArte ecotours. Go for a hike in North America’s largest "sea of sand", kayak the tidal channels of Morua Estuary, or explore the diverse marine life found in the tidepools of the Northern Gulf of California.

CEDO’s NaturArte program is an award winning conservation project designed to strengthen ties between tourists, local communities and ecosystems, while raising intercultural and environmental awareness. What will my child be doing at Wet Feet Ocean Camp?

Some common activities include: Wading, swimming, snorkeling, boating, hiking, digging on the beach, cooking, singing, playing, meeting new people, interacting with Spanish speakers, learning new facts, thinking about the future, creating, eating, running, learning something new, and much more!

Don’t worry, English-only speakers will be comfortable interacting in this intercultural camp, our bilingual counselors will facilitate the process.

* how to use the biological world as a source of inspiration for designing robots, and how to translate those principles into a set of engineering design goals.
* how to ideate, prototype, and synthesize robotic devices through folded mechanisms, and how force, torque, and motion can be tuned through these structures to make robots move better.
* Coding a microcontroller to generate motion with an RC servo-motor.
* how to take real-world data from a foldable robot and use physical models to improve robot performance

This week-long, hands-on, project-based approach will emphasize problem identification, brainstorming, problem solving, rapid prototyping, teamwork, and communication. The camp will culminate with a final build -- that students can program to move through the environment -- along with a Friday afternoon exposition for parents.

Students will be able to take their development kits home with them at the end of the week. Example parts & materials include:
