Instrument specific masterclasses, Theory class electives, and a final concert at the end of the week are all part of the JazzWire Summer Summit experience.

JazzWire.net, our online platform is 100% integrated with The JazzWire Summer Summit experience, and you will become a subscriber ($49.95/ mo) to receive all the benefits. JazzWire is home to over 250 adult amateur and semi-pro musicians like you, from around the world, folks are learning, playing, practicing and progressing together like never before.

MOST of our playing at The Summit is in a jazz small group – no time wasted sitting in boring classes! We have only 25 spots for Session 1 (July 15 - 17, 2022) and 50 spots for Session 2/In Person (July 20 - 23, 2022). We are open to all instruments (and vocals). CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Active Learning Services, Ltd operates enrichment programs designed to stimulate creative thinking, improve thinking, logic and memory skills and give children "thinking alternatives" to sports camps and other summer programs. Our programs include chess programs and camps thru USA Chess, Our Gamebuilder Video Game Creation Programs and our Active Learning Computer Enrichment Programs.

Our staff is, comprised of the best children's chess instructors in North America! The USA Chess camps are uniquely qualified to cater to the needs of the advanced scholastic player as well as the true beginner. USA Chess hit its first milestone in the summer of 2000 producing the largest chess camp ever held in the United States, with more than 250 students enrolled. What was most surprising, however, was the amount of absolute beginners in attendance - more than 50% of the total enrollment was just starting to play chess. This realization led to the national rollout tour of 100 camps in more than 70 cities. The annual tours have been immensely successful with several thousand campers attending this year alone.

USA Chess thrives on providing a structured environment that is extremely conducive to learning chess. We handpick the best children's chess instructors from all over the United States and bring them to each camp. We believe our team is most effective in teaching chess to children of all ages and levels. The exceptional organization and ever-fun curriculum has fueled much interest from scholastic players and coaches from around the country, prompting them to request USA Chess camps in their areas.

At the same summer camp locations, we also offer the immensely popular Gamebuilder Video Game Creation Camps, The Active Learning Computer Animation Programs, and other Computer Enrichment Programs such as Modding, Networking and Hosting with Minecraft. We now offer seven unique programs in all.

At these camps, children are assigned a computer for the week; they spend the week learning to create their own one-of- a- kind video games in our Gamebuilder Camps, Animation Projects in our Animation Camps, also Modding, Networking and Hosting with Minecraft.

Staff live in private rooms within the Lodges so that they are nearby, attentive, and available, while still allowing campers an appropriate level of privacy.

Adventure surrounds us! There’s a lake (complete with a “blob,” a.k.a. the best thing ever), hiking trails, a challenge course, basketball court, volleyball court, lakeside for s’mores and a meadow for stargazing!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: At Traveling Players Ensemble’s camp, small troupes of actors are carefully guided by professional theatre artists to perform in outdoor amphitheaters. Our program reflects the origins of theatre, when troupes of actors roamed the ancient and medieval countryside, relying on the barest props and boldest imagination to convey their art. Each session culminates in a fully mounted and designed performance which is open to the public, thereby cultivating stronger, more adaptable and capable artists and individuals.

Traveling Players emphasizes a meaningful engagement with nature. Every week features a campout – when performers learn Leave No Trace camping techniques, to pitch tents and cook outdoors. Our advanced students in the Shakespeare Troupe (grades 9-12) spend their final week camping out close to their performance site—giving them the experience of wandering entertainers who carry their dinner, tent and props in their trusty pack. As artists and backpackers, all of campers learn self-reliance and creative problem solving, and gain an appreciation of challenges and beauty.

Founding Artistic Director Jeanne Harrison has taught for The Folger Shakespeare Library, Catholic University, University of Maryland-Baltimore County, Loyola University (MD), The Chapin School (NYC) and Interlochen Center for the Arts (MI), where she directed the Shakespeare program. Jeanne has worked in camping for 28 years, directed two other camps, is a certified Camp Director (American Camping Association), Wilderness First Responder (SOLO), and an Instructor with the American Red Cross. Jeanne has also served as a judge for the Helen Hayes Awards.

Technical Director and owner, William Moravek explains "We are extremely lucky to have such fine individuals from which our students can gain so much valuable information. It is also a fantastic opportunity for the area´s top youth players to be exposed to what has been so successful in Europe in regards to football youth development.

In 2010 we also had two academy players from Queens Park Rangers FC, and trialists from Chelsea, Reading and Fulham FC of England in attendance. This was a fantastic experience for all the players and certainly raised the standard of training through the week. In 2011 we had two of our students sign academy contracts with Fulham FC and another two students who were able to go train with that same club. It is important for us to share ideas and also grasp concepts and ideas from countries that have accomplished so much in the game over the years.

This is why we always have such a diverse and high level of professional coach and player at these camps. In addition we regularly get some of the best players from the area in attendance from clubs like Bethesda SC, Baltimore Bays, Mclean Premier Soccer, Potomac Soccer, Loudoun Soccer, Arlington Soccer, Soca Elite and Ashburn Soccer to name a few with players coming from as far as England, Germany, Florida, Kentucky and Guam in the past."

OTHER CAMP INFO: William H. Moravek
President & Technical Director

Moravek is currently an official Scout for 2010 Europa League Finalists, Fulham FC, of England's Premier League. He was an official scout for English professional side, Southampton FC and was a coach for them from 2001-2003. Southampton FC were longstanding participants in The Premier League which is considered to be one of the most exciting and finest professional soccer leagues in the world.

In 2003, Moravek was an assistant coach with Jamaica's National Team which saw him in action against the USA, Nigeria, Paraguay, Cuba and Brazil. In 2000-2001, Moravek was the head national team coach for the British Virgin Islands and Seba United FC in Jamaica’s premier division of their pro league. He is the first and youngest American coach to lead a foreign national and professional team outside of the USA. CAMP FACILITIES: We offer overnight/sleepaway dance camps in beautiful locations where the pace of life is slower. At ADTC, mountains, forests and lakes will surround you. You'll raise your serotonin, boost your immune system, and do what you love all day long.

Our dance camps are near renowned destination resorts & famous cities. At ADTC, you'll have access to all of the activities you'd want to enjoy at camp, as well as all of the amenities you'd expect to find at a resort. And we have just as much fun outside the dance studio as we do in class!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our top-notch dance choreographers bring the freshest dance combinations to our dance camps! They hail from the best dance studios, schools and performance groups.

ADTC choreographers have the most impressive dance resumes: they are Radio City Rockettes; Broadway & MTV performers; celebrities from your favorite dance TV shows; and collegiate dance team competitors.

No matter what level dancer you are, we’ve got fun & challenging dance classes that’ll fit you just right.

You’ll take four dance classes daily and at week’s end you get to show off your new moves in a big Friday night performance for family, friends and fellow campers.

In addition to core dance classes in contemporary, hip hop & jazz (styles of jazz vary and may include lyrical, modern or Broadway), you’ll choose between ballet, tap or world dance for your core elective dance class.

And we believe girls in our perfectionist culture need to get out and have more authentic fun! At ADTC you can enjoy awesome activities & extras like horseback riding, kayaking, paintball, trampolines, swimming, hiking, rock wall climbing, alpine slides, water rides, and so much more!

Join us this summer for your chance to take dance classes with the best choreographers in the world!
