BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: JazzWire Summer Summit includes TWO session weeks of playing, learning, workshops, jam sessions and faculty concerts! The first session is a virtual session held online. The second session is in person, with tons of playing together in a group. Enrollment is limited to give you lots of personal attention and playing time. The faculty student ratio is 1:7, and our learning environment is focused, intimate and effective.

CAMP LOCATION: We are located online for the first session, and located in Rockville Maryland for session 2. This is just a few minutes north of Washington DC.
CAMP FACILITIES: We use the facility of St. Mark Presbyterian Church. This facility includes two stories with plenty of classrooms for small group combo sessions. We're also equipped with an elevator, cafeteria for lunch, and bathrooms on both floors.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: JazzWire Summer Summit (formerly known as Maryland Summer Jazz), is entering its 18th year. Run & directed by Jeff Antoniuk, an internationally respected jazz composer and musician whose concerts and recordings are consistently well received by critics, he is accompanied by a world class faculty, ever changing each year. The camp includes personal classes, with a 1:7 ratio of Faculty to Student. Instrument specific masterclasses, Theory class electives, and a final concert at the end of the week are all part of the JazzWire Summer Summit experience.
JazzWire.net, our online platform is 100% integrated with The JazzWire Summer Summit experience, and you will become a subscriber ($49.95/ mo) to receive all the benefits. JazzWire is home to over 250 adult amateur and semi-pro musicians like you, from around the world, folks are learning, playing, practicing and progressing together like never before.
MOST of our playing at The Summit is in a jazz small group – no time wasted sitting in boring classes! We have only 25 spots for Session 1 (July 15 - 17, 2022) and 50 spots for Session 2/In Person (July 20 - 23, 2022). We are open to all instruments (and vocals). The moral of the story . . . don’t delay, these spots go fast!
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: ALL participants who attend The Summit will become JazzWire members, so your experience at The JazzWire Summit will be more in-depth than you will get at ANY other workshop on earth. You’ll be playing with your peers from the three JazzWire Online Communities, folks who you know and respect. We’ll be working on the JazzWire Summit music for months before the workshop (and for months after), so everyone will be showing up with some homework already done. We’ll be ready to play! When you sign up for The JazzWire Summer Summit, your JazzWire Growth Plan fee is waived (a $75 value).
