CAMPER AGES: 5 - 12
TYPE OF CAMP: Day Camp. A premier day camp on the north shore of Chicago. The hours are from 8-5:30, Monday through Friday.
CAMPER GENDER(S): Coed Campers.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Fine Arts/Crafts, Swimming, Team Sports, Science, Technology, Academics, Adventure, Wilderness/Nature, and more.
CAMP LOCATION: Oasis has locations in Winnetka and Highland Park. We have campers ranging from 5 to 12-years old (junior counselors start at 13), and a range of activities that satisfy the most diverse interests. Oasis Summer Camp presents a tremendous opportunity for your child to widen horizons, form new friendships, take risks, and discover new strengths all under the supervision of professional educators.
The true payoff of spending a summer with Oasis will be when your child comes home more self-reliant, self-sufficient, and bubbling over with self-confidence and happiness. Take comfort in knowing that enrolling in Oasis means your child is entering a safe place, with adults who are trained and skilled in child development. At Oasis, your child’s opportunities for excitement are endless.
The creative camper will enjoy stimulating arts and crafts, group folly performances, and preparing costumes for weekly theme days. Adventure-seeking campers will get their fill at wild water parks, in terrific tournaments, and by participating in spectacular sports. Field trips, amazing special guests such as Mad Science's unique brand of engaging live programs, and Thursday catered cookouts will complete every camper’s ultimate summer experience. CAMP FACILITIES: This camp has two campuses located in Winnetka, IL and Highland Park, IL., from these drop-off and pick-up locations we visit a wide variety of destinations around the Chicagoland area to offer children every opportunity for fun. From swimming, to science classes, farms, museums and even amusement parks we have something that every child will enjoy.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our program is geared to fully engage your child. There is no single focus, but more of a variety of programming to be sure our campers have a fun as well as educational summer. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership program.
OTHER CAMP INFO: The founders, owners, and operators of Oasis Summer Day Camp are husband and wife James and Brooke Schamber. For many years, both have directed summer camps along the North Shore; now they bring the best of these experiences to another great summer at Oasis. With their vision, talent, and the help of a highly skilled staff, they have created a fun-filled family-like atmosphere that promotes curiosity, creativity, and sportsmanship.
Brooke and James have an extensive background in child and family services. Through her training and work as a school psychologist, Brooke is skilled in child and adolescent development, education, and family models. James is a beloved teacher and athletic coach who has a graduate degree in curriculum and instruction, and has also enjoyed instructing classes for students with exceptional talents at Northwestern University.
Both have had great success dedicating their time to enriching children’s lives and are committed to exceeding your highest expectations. They are thrilled to invite you and your child to become a member of the Oasis family. They are confident this will be a fantastic summer where friendships are cultivated that provide memories to last a lifetime!
