CAMPER AGES: 13-17
TYPE OF CAMP: Day Camp. June 9-12, Tuesday-Friday, 1pm-5pm
CAMPER GENDER(S): Coed Campers.
BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Learn an overview of photographic techniques from digital capture and printing to traditional darkroom and historical processes. You will use both a digital and film camera, print digitally and in the darkroom, and experiment with alternative photography. We will discuss the fundamentals and foundations of the photographic medium with fun photo projects every day.
Each student will leave with a collection of their artwork made during camp, be featured in an online exhibition at Our Camp Website Link: www.artintersection.com, and have one or more of their images published in the summer student catalogue.
Bring your own cell phone/digital camera and film cameras OR use one from Art Intersection. Snacks provided.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Fine Arts/Crafts, Video/Filmmaking/Photography, Computers, and more.
CAMP LOCATION: The camp is held at Art Intersection, a gallery and learning space in downtown Gilbert, on the Southeast corner of Cullumber and Gilbert Road.
CAMP FACILITIES: We have four gallery spaces, a classroom, fine art lighting studio, silver gelatin darkroom, alternative process photographic room, digital print lab and office space.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The camps are taught by the Art Intersection Staff who are all working artists themselves.
