CAMPER AGES: 7 1/2 and up
TYPE OF CAMP: Day Camp. Monday-Friday one 75 minute session per day
CAMPER GENDER(S): Coed Campers.
BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: iCan Bike uses a fleet of adapted bicycles, a specialized instructional program and a trained staff to teach individuals with disabilities how to ride a bike. Riders attend the same 75-minute session each day for five consecutive days (M – F) whereby they are physically assisted and encouraged by two volunteer “spotters”. Over the course of the 5-day camp the adapted bike is adjusted to gradually introduce more instability in an effort to challenge riders at their own individual pace. The week is concluded with a touching and inspiring award ceremony!
SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: iCan Bike uses a fleet of adapted bicycles, a specialized instructional program and a trained staff to teach individuals with disabilities how to ride a bike.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Team Sports, and more. Biking For Individuals With Disabilities.
CAMP LOCATION: We are 15 miles North of Pittsburgh,

CAMP FACILITIES: We teach you how to ride a two-wheeler in the large gym at Pine-Richland High School and move you to the outside parking lot as you progress.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: The true cost of bringing this program to our area is much higher than camper registration fees cover. The cost already includes over $5000 worth of fundraising to keep the costs as low as possible for you! At this point, we can't offer any more scholarships or financial aid.
CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
The camp is July 17th-July 21st. The cost $150 (before May 1) and $175 after May 1st.
A camper will pick one 75 minute session and they will attend that session from Monday through Friday.
Session 1: 8am-9:15am
Session 2: 9:35am -10:50am
Session 3: 11:10am -12:25pm
Session 4: 1:25pm-2:40pm

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
This camp depends on a large volunteer base. There are two volunteers with each camper who stay with the camper as they progress through the program. Please contact Rhys if you want to volunteer. Just like the campers, you would pick 1-2 of the five sessions and come all 5 days (if possible).
