SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Taconnet is a family camp on an island on Great Pond, in the Belgrade Lakes region. Families will stay in beautiful 3-4 bedroom cottages on the water all with docks and unmotorized watercraft. All families enjoy American plan dining daily and can choose from a variety of family activities. Wonderful place to unwind and reconnect with your loved ones.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Fine Arts/Crafts, Golf, Swimming, Tennis, Waterfront/Aquatics, Sailing, Adventure, and more.
CAMP LOCATION: We are 30-35 minutes from both Augusta and Waterville. Taconnet is located on Joyce Island, on Great Pond, which is part of the Belgrade Lakes region.
CAMP FACILITIES: Taconnet has 15 beautiful family cottages, some with multiple cottages for larges family groups. Each cottage is located on the water and has a dock to enjoy the beauty of Great Pond. Families will enjoy an all-American dining plan at our dining hall. Many activities are available for families including our three Har-true tennis courts, fishing, swimming, yoga, children's craft activities.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Taconnet has been operating as a family camp for 140 years. It originated as a retreat for teachers and their families from metropolitan areas looking to escape to city and to reconnect. Taconnet has continued to evolve but remains an escape from the busy world to reconnect with family.
