CAMPER AGES: 8-14 (grades 3-8)
TYPE OF CAMP: Day Camp. Monday-Friday, 9am-3:30pm
CAMPER GENDER(S): Coed Campers.
BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: TAF Camps are exciting weekly STEM experiences for youth entering grades 3-8. Our campers get to design, program, invent, code, and more. Each weekly camp revolves around a STEM theme, such as Robotics, Video Game Design, Backyard Biology, Forensic Science, Architecture & Engineering Design, and more! CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Video/Filmmaking/Photography, Computers, Math, Science, Technology, Academics, and more. Robotics, Video Game Design, Programming, Digital Design, Biology, Inventions, Forensic Science, Digital Art, Engineering, & Arduino.
CAMP LOCATION: We are located in beautiful Lakewood Park in the White Center area of Southwest Seattle.
CAMP FACILITIES: Bethaday Community Learning Space (BCLS), the home of TAF, is a LEED-Silver certified multipurpose building, located in beautiful Lakewood Park in the White Center Area. BCLS is surrounded by trees, a small lake and fabulous picnic areas.
We offer a multipurpose room with a full kitchen, four technology-filled classrooms for our youth (equipped with SMART boards, A/V systems, and laptops for student use), an academic support room and plenty of outdoor space. There is ample parking and the building is ADA compliant.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: TAF campers learn cool, cutting-edge STEM skills while engaging in fun, hands-on projects.
Each session will feature a field trip to a museum, research site, or learning space that relates to the focus of the week.
Each camp will also include a culminating event at which campers will show off their completed projects.
CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Volunteer CIT positions available for youth ages 16+. Please inquire.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Limited partial scholarships available for families in need.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: STEMbyTAF Lab is our after-school academic-enrichment program for students in middle school grades. STEMbyTAF Lab participants learn advanced technology that is relevant to STEM career paths, strengthen their academic and life skills, participate in STEM knowledge competitive events, and engage in early college readiness. CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Each session is $225 per week. Extended care is available until 5pm for an additional $50 per week.
