BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Summer Drama with Looking for Lilith Theatre Company offers 5-day camps (The Magic Drum and GirlSpeak) and one-day workshops (as a part of the Cultural Pass program). Participate in creative process drama, flip a fairytale, write your own play, participate in an interactive play, add some drama to your summer!

CAMP LOCATION: Looking for Lilith Theatre Company's offices and studios are located in the historical church building of Crescent Hill United Methodist Church in the beautiful Crescent Hill neighborhood, right by "The Avenue" a.k.a Frankfort Avenue.
CAMP FACILITIES: Ground floor studios - spacious and clean.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Looking for Lilith Teaching Artists have decades of experience each in leading creative drama activities and teaching drama with children and adults. Looking for Lilith Theatre Company, founded in 2001, has created and produced multiple original plays based on lifting up the voices of the unheard, and their summer programming reflects their commitment to providing a platform for such voices and to working for social justice and building strong communities through the arts. Among their many honors is the Karen Willis Award from the Kentucky Theatre Association for artistic excellence and commitment to changing Kentucky through theatre.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Looking for Lilith offers after-school Drama Clubs 5 days a week in multiple elementary schools throughout the Louisville, KY area. If you would like us to bring a Drama Club to your child's school, have your school counselor or PTA contact jennifer[AT]lookingforlilith.org. We also bring CHOICES, our bullying and suicide prevention program, to middle and high schools throughout the region. LOOKING for LILITH Summer Drama Programs 2019
GirlSpeak: June 24-28, 9:00 - 3:00, ages 9-12, $185
Young women telling their stories their way! What is important to your daughter? What makes her excited or upset? LFL Teaching Artists will facilitate a one-week workshop using the devising techniques used in creating LFL's professional productions working with participants to craft a play that explores ideas, issues and themes that are significant to your daughter. Register today for this empowering program that culminates in a presentation of participants' creativity.
The Magic Drum: June 10-14, 9:00 - 12:00, ages 4-8, $160
Journey to a Nigerian village and join the zebras, elephants and flamingos for the story of The Magic Drum! What will happen when Ijapa the turtle tricks them into giving her the drum? The other animals, played by our campers, work together to teach Ijapa about how unfair and hurtful it is to discriminate against others. Our campers help finish the story through creative play, visual arts, rhythm, and movement.
CULTURAL PASS offerings:
($12 each, or free with a Cultural Pass)
CHOICES: An Interactive Play on Cyberbullying and Suicide
June 13, 6:30-8:30pm, ages 11 & up
CHOICES focuses on prevention, as it encourages youth and adults to deeply consider these problems emphasizing possible solutions and coping strategies. CHOICES is a Forum Theatre piece: a 20 minute scripted play followed by a 1 hr interactive portion where the audience helps the main character make different choices in dealing with her online bully.
KidzPlay - July 1 or Aug 3, 10 - 11:30, ages 4-8
Designed for parent and child together, LFL teaching artists will facilitate an exciting creative dramatics workshop with skills used in our after-school programming and summer camps.
KidzPlay2: Flip the Fairytale - July 1 or Aug 3, 10-11:30, ages 8-11
Children and their parents explore an old favorite in a different way -- what happens if the characters go "off script" in the fairy tale kingdom?
