CAMPER AGES: Week 1: Ages 5-8, Week 2: Ages 7-12 (flexibility regarding age ranges)
TYPE OF CAMP: Day Camp. Monday-Friday 9am-12pm during 2 week-long sessions (June 20-24, July 11-15)
CAMPER GENDER(S): Coed Campers.
BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Samba Criança (Samba Kid) Summer Workshop for Youth is a unique summer workshop offering hands-on training in Brazilian and Afro-Brazilian drumming, dance, song and culture. All instruments supplied, no experience needed - ages 5-12 welcome. Scholarships available, email info[AT]sambafogo.com for more information. Program will culminate in a performance for family and friends on Friday, June 24 (Week 1) or Friday, July 15 (Week 2) at 11:00am.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Dance, Music/Band, and more.
CAMP LOCATION: Samba Criança is held at the Utah Arts Alliance's SLC Arts Hub, just west of downtown Salt Lake City on 663 West 100 South.
CAMP FACILITIES: We hold class in a large dance studio on the second floor of the building.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: *To request a scholarship, please send an email to info[AT]sambafogo.com expressing the need for and the reasons why you are requesting a scholarship.
CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Week One: Ages 5-8
Monday, June 20 - Friday, June 24, 9am-12pm
Week Two: Ages 7-12
Monday, July 11 - Friday, July 15, 9am-12pm
$120/week; partial scholarships available*
Ages ranges for each week are flexible;
please let us know if your child is unable to attend the session that includes their age and we will work with you!
