CAMP PROGRAM INFO:
Pegasus Studios’ 27 year continued reputation to provide an atmosphere in which children can explore, create, express and develop their inborn creative spirit, physically, visually and musically will provide your child a summer of memories that will last a lifetime.
Following educational theories of Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences that children’s brains have varied inborn ways of learning, our program will draw on different combinations of verbal, musical, spatial, movement, social and self-awareness skills as the motivation for Pegasus Studios’ summer programs.
Our carefully integrated selections of activities are designed to nurture the growth of the developing child through to young adults. Dance, Art, Fitness, Music and Drama professionals will introduce your children to many different programs and guide them towards confident self-esteem and expression.
Activities for each of our unique programs will be based on age and development and children will be divided into groups accordingly drawing on programs from the following headings;
Music, Movement and Dance;
Music and dance programs to introduce or expand on the student’s knowledge or interest in Creative Movement, Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Yoga, Rhythm Dance along with an exploration of percussion instruments and music from around the world.
Visual Arts, Drama and Literacy;
Stories and rhymes are the building blocks for literacy skills and create a love of reading and writing. Through the telling of stories and use of rhymes, in visual arts (painting, drawing, collage), building (sculpture and construction), fiber arts and handwork (beading), the words come to life for children and inspire their future creativity. The Art of Storytelling and Dramatic Arts will be explored by older campers.
Sport Games & Fitness; Promoting physical well-being, for boys and girls, through modified sport games and activities designed to encourage and develop spatial awareness, co-ordination and locomotor skills.
