CAMP LOCATION: We are located 90 miles east of Manhattan, on Long Island's North Fork. Peconic Dunes sits on 60 beautiful acres between the Long Island Sound and Great Pond, a 30-acre fresh water lake. Not many camps have one natural waterfront...we have two! There's also sand dunes, natural woods, and several species of flora and fauna that are globally rare (orchids, purple loose strife, hog nose snake, etc). CAMP FACILITIES: We have 14 rustic cabins and 2 large modern cabins, 1-mile of Long Island Sound beachfront, a 30-acre fresh water kettle lake, outdoor basketball court, beach volleyball court, soccer field, fishing dock, and lots of outdoor space for cooking, archery, exploring, singing and dancing, campfires, and more!
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Peconic Dunes 4-H Camp has been named the Dan's Papers Reader's Choice Best of the Best Long Island summer camps for the past 6 straight years. Our staff come from around the world, from Long Island to Australia, Poland, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and more. As a 4-H Camp our philosophy is simple, "learning by doing."
