BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: This week-long Bassoon program includes daily lessons, master classes, tenor clef readings (for younger students), chamber music coaching, and reed-making workshops — in addition to a focus on specific repertoire. Whether you are preparing for a college or conservatory audition or looking to stand out as a music major, Peabody Bassoon Week is designed to help you become a stronger, more confident player and take your musicianship to the next level. There will also be plenty of evening activities and opportunities for socializing with other participants. You’ll find more information and an online application on our website.

CAMP LOCATION: The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University is conveniently located in the Mount Vernon cultural district of Baltimore, just one mile north of the Inner Harbor. Our location provides easy access from major highways, airports (20 minutes from BWI), and both train and bus stations.
CAMP FACILITIES: The Peabody Institute has residence halls located above the Unger lounge and the Peabody Dining Hall. Each fully-furnished room is equipped with a twin XL bed, a dresser, a mirror, a desk and chair, an Ethernet internet jack, a bulletin board. The halls also have a common kitchen, lounge appliances such as a microwave, a common television, and 24-hour-a-day laundry facilities. The residence halls are located steps away from the Dining Hall, classrooms, studios, Arthur Friedheim Library, practice rooms and concert halls.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The program is led by Phillip Kolker, Artist Bassoon Faculty of the Peabody Conservatory, retired chair of orchestral instruments, Peabody Conservatory, and retired Principle Bassoon of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Other faculty include Lynn Moncilovich of the University of Delaware, Robert Sirois, Howard Country Public School System music faculty, and Holden McAleer, master repairman.

Sunday, July 22 to Sunday, July 29, 2018
Tuition: Resident, All-inclusive (except parking) $1,300
Commuter Student:(Room, Board, parking excluded): $850
Parking: $10 per day
