TYPE OF CAMP: Overnight/Sleepaway. Expedition Canoeing in the summer and autumn. Extreme-temperature winter camping December 27 through the first weekend of March.

CAMP LOCATION: Northern Tier's flagship base is located 22 miles east of Ely, MN on Moose Lake - right at the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Please visit: Our Camp Website Link: www.fs.usda.gov.
CAMP FACILITIES: Northern Tier has rustic cabins for the first and last night of a group's stay. The rest of the time is spent in the wilderness of North America's Canoe Country.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Northern Tier offers back country programming year-round.
Additionally, Northern Tier has state-of-the-art conference facilities available in the fall and spring.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
The canoe trip leader is the main program person working with the youth and adults in the crew. He/she serves as a Scouting role model for trail crews. Is a specialist and resource person to the trail crew on all aspects of the canoe trip. This includes, but is not limited to: packing and preparation for trip, food handling, navigation, safety, history, fishing, and ecology. *Note: You must be able to pass a swim test.
Camp staff positions include Outfitting, Trading Post, Dining Hall, Maintenance, and Living History.
