BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Northern Clay Center offers Summer Clay Camps for kids ages 6+ for half days or full days from June - August. Camps include a variety of fun themes and opportunities to work with sculpture, tiles, or wheel-thrown pottery. NCC offers teen pottery classes each Saturday all year round.

CAMP LOCATION: Northern Clay Center is located one block south of the 25th and Riverside exit off of Interstate Highway 94.
CAMP FACILITIES: We have 4 education studio spaces, galleries where ceramic art is exhibited, and studio artist spaces for rent.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Half-day camps meet for three hours each day (from 9 am – 12 pm or 1 – 4 pm) and include a short break for snacks provided by parents and caregivers. Half-day camps do not include lunch. Full-day camps meet for 7 hours each day (from 9 am – 4 pm unless otherwise noted) and include an hour-long supervised break for lunch and non-clay activities. Parents should provide snacks and lunches for full-day campers. Each camp is led by a teaching artist; on average, one additional teaching assistant is present for each camp.

OTHER CAMP INFO: NCC Clay Camps will be adjusted to public health guidelines by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). Our safety measures include lowered camp capacities to facilitate distancing, required face coverings, and thorough cleaning strategies.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Northern Clay Center seeks college students and recent graduates, ages 18 and up, for our summer camp positions. Each summer, we provide opportunities for over 15 assistants to help run our camp programs and to gain classroom experience.
The Clay Camp Assistants will work closely with the education program head and clay camp teachers to provide classroom support for weekly summer clay camps at NCC.
