CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Fine Arts/Crafts, Video/Filmmaking/Photography, Weightloss, Soccer, Horses/Equestrian, Swimming, and more.
CAMP LOCATION: We are located 4 miles off of Interstate 81 between Staunton and Lexington, VA in the Shenandoah Valley area.
CAMP FACILITIES: We have 3 cabins with bunk bed accomodations, 2 bathhouses with hot water showers, outdoor swimming pool, arts & crafts center, leisure center, 2 large riding arenas, a cross country course, wooded trails with foxhunting jumps, and close by to local restaurants/drive in movie theaters, and state parks for field trips.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We are a family run riding camp that specializes in keeping our program small in order to provide excellent instruction in riding and horsemanship from beginner to advanced levels. Many of our students have gone on to become equine professionals and even run their own barns and competed at the grand prix level.
We strive to teach all levels of riders to become knowledgable horsemen and women in a safe, friendly, and fun environment.
CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: CIT program available to veteran campers age 16 & 17.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: There is a scholarship program offered, the Nan Scholarship Fund. Information on how to apply is available on our website.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Riding lessons, trail rides, and weekend vacations are available at New Meadow year round by appointment.
OTHER CAMP INFO: New Meadow is a working horse farm all year round, not just a summer camp. There are lessons & trail rides, a training program, and boarding opportunities at our facility.
CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
We run an 8 week program, with a 4 week, 3 week, 1 week, 7 or 8 week sessions.
