BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Overnight, residential summer camp with focus on outdoor adventures and connection with nature comprised of week-long sessions located in mountains of Colorado, just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park.
SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: We partner with Respite Care in Fort Collins, CO to provide a wilderness camp experience for children with special needs in 4th-6th grade who are part of the Respite Care community.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Theater (Acting), Music/Band, Fine Arts/Crafts, Waterfront/Aquatics, Adventure, Wilderness/Nature, and more. Other Activities Include Canoeing, Rock Climbing, Hiking, & Archery.
CAMP LOCATION: We are located in the Rocky Mountains off State Highway 7 business route in Allenspark, CO. Our location is 15 miles from Estes Park and just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. Please visit our website to see our scenic location nestled in the mountains.
CAMP FACILITIES: We have a modern Retreat Center comprised of 24 lodging rooms, an industrial kitchen, meeting and dining rooms. Campers stay in our cabins that boast rustic charm with the modern amenities of electricity and running water. Outdoor facilities include hiking trails, archery range, pond, low ropes challenge course, campfire rings, and outdoor vespers sites.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The mission of Highlands Summer Camp is to foster belonging, connection, faith, curiosity, and a sense of adventure in our campers through a safe and fun camp experience.
Highlands Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA), signifying that we meet high standards for health, safety, and operational management.
Summer camp is run by our full-time, year round Program Director who ensures compliance and meets all specifications for the ACA and Colorado Childcare Licensing Standards. The Program Director also maintains an active Wilderness First Responder certification.
We are fortunate to have a Registered Nurse onsite 24/7 during camp sessions to provide medical care for our campers and staff.
Camp counselors are trained in CPR and First Aid and participate in a full week of staff training to ensure proper training on policies, procedures, emergency plans, behavior management, activity facilitation, and FUN!
All staff undergo fingerprinting and background checks.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We believe that camp is for everyone and we don't want financial stress to be a barrier for kids to come to camp. For this reason, we provide scholarships for camp. The scholarship application can be filled out as part of the camp application.
FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Our family camp is designed to allow adults and children to enjoy camp together. Whether you're wanting your child to try out camp alongside a parent/grandparent before sending them to camp on their own, or you're looking for a family bonding experience, family camp may be for you! Feel free to sign up as an entire family, parent/child, grandparent/child, aunt/uncle/niece/nephew, or whatever family means to you! There are no age restrictions for family camp.

We hire seasonal summer camp counselors to guide our campers in safety, fun, adventure, and exploration.
