If you want to strengthen your acting skills, work hard with like-minded students, and live on a college campus, this summer experience is for you.
Students take daily classes focused on voice, movement, and acting. CUAdrama professors and local theatre professionals lead Master Classes—possible topics include improvisation, character work, and stage combat.
An additional focus of the summer program will be on the preparation of audition monologues. Each student will work on preparing and rehearsing two audition monologues to add to his or her repertoire. The program culminates with a workshop performance of monologues and short scenes presented on the evening of the final day.
Students will attend one performance at The John. F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and other productions at Washington, DC professional theatres.
Students will live in supervised campus residence halls beginning on the night before the first day of classes—July 4—and participate in the university meal plan. This two-week program allows students a brief experience of campus life and learning.
