CAMPER AGES: 8 to 14
TYPE OF CAMP: Day Camp. Weekdays from 9 to 1 pm. See specific weeks during the summer.
CAMPER GENDER(S): All Girl Campers.
BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Hidden Creek Ranch's camps include six weekly programs held in June, July and August. There are two Horsemanship boot camps offering an introduction to horses with no prior experience. English Riding camp offers another intro-level camp that is geared to future jumping riders. It is followed by English Jumping camp. Trail camp is another favorite to explore the riding trails of Irvine Park and Santiago Oaks Regional Park. Lastly, there is the Horse Show camp, which focuses on standard classes in both Western and English, and campers will participate in a show at the end of the week. Campers will ride every day during each session. There is a discount for campers who enroll in 2 or more camp sessions. Session dates are on the website. No more than 10 campers per session, so camps fill up fast.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Horses/Equestrian, Wilderness/Nature, and more.
CAMP LOCATION: We are located in Orange County, California, in the middle of Orange Park Acres, an equestrian dedicated residential zone.
CAMP FACILITIES: Ten lesson horses available. All equipment is provided. Full Private equestrian facility (not a public boarding facility).
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Equine Passion is a simple fact of life for Head trainer, Mailei Bennett of Hidden Creek Ranch in Orange, CA. Mailei has taken her own passion for horses and has made it her life's work to encourage and bring out this love for horses in her students. With over 20 years of experience, she goes many steps further to facilitate growth in her team of riders, so they can progress toward their own goals involving horses.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Horseback Riding Lessons (part of an after-school program)
Horse Show Team (flat fee for unlimited lessons)
OTHER CAMP INFO: Lunch is not provided. Campers need to bring 2 sets of clothes...one to ride in and the other to work in. (Riding clothes are long pants or breeches, comfortable shirt. We have helmets and boots.)
