BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: The Y Footpaths Nursery Camp is a perfect example of staying close to home and still having an adventure this summer! Our young campers, ages 2 - 5, look forward to the discoveries that each day brings and realize that to learn is to have fun! Rooms turn into jungles, caves and oceans, children become explorers, and the Y becomes the world all around. Included are yoga, gymnastics and swimming instruction, and pizza every Friday!
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Dance, Music/Band, Fine Arts/Crafts, Gymnastics, Swimming, and more.
CAMP LOCATION: We are located within the nursery school facilities at the Y of Washington Heights and Inwood.
CAMP FACILITIES: We have five air-conditioned classrooms, a full-size gymnasium, a dance studio, a rooftop playground and a side playground on the first floor with sprinklers for those warm summer days. We have instructional swim weekly at the Riverdale Y, a 10 minute ride away.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: There is an early childhood licensed lead teacher in each classroom with an experienced associate teacher as well as three additional counselors. Our campers work and play within the learning centers of our classrooms, and participate in art activities daily as well as weekly gymnastics and dance programs. Threes and fours have instructional swim at the Riverdale Y each week. Music and story-telling are infused throughout our program.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Financial assistance is available based on need.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Camp is an extension of our nursery school program.
CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Campers can attend for the whole summer from the end of June to the middle of August or can enroll for the first half of the summer (4 weeks or can enroll for 5 weeks, 6 weeks or 7 weeks. SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
We hire counselors, teachers and assistant teachers for our nursery camp.
