BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Eastman at Keuka is a 2-week camp where students are immersed in their instruments and voice, playing in small ensembles, learning in elective classes, singing in all-camp choir. All taught by world-class faculty from the Eastman School of Music. Good balance of summer recreation by the lake, and intense music-making. Ages 11-15. July 9-21, 2017
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Music/Band, Soccer, Swimming, Waterfront/Aquatics, Team Sports, and more. Students Are Placed Into Small Groups Based On Experience, & Have Opportunities To Perform Daily. Recreational Activities Such As Swimming, Canoeing, Hiking, Campfire Singing, & Lawn Sports (Volleyball, Frisbee, Soccer, Etc.).
CAMP LOCATION: Eastman at Keuka takes place on the well-appointed campus of Keuka College, on the shores of beautiful Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes region of NY. One hour from Rochester, easy to access by plane or car.
CAMP FACILITIES: Keuka College, located on the shores of Keuka Lake, boasts air-conditioned dorms, all-inclusive dining, the beautiful Norton Chapel for performances, rehearsal spaces, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a library, all overlooking the water. Swimming and boating is supervised by life guards, all campers are supervised by trained counseling staff in small ratios.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Students entering grades 6-9 will learn, perform, and grow musically; experience the beauty and recreation of the Finger Lakes; and form enduring friendships with students from near and far.
Students are placed into small ensembles based on experience and are coached in technique, and practice habits, all led by distinguished faculty from the Eastman School of Music, the Eastman Community Music School, and members of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. All students also participate in electives such as theory, improvisation, chorus, and Dalcroze Eurhythmics.
In addition to rigorous musical curriculum, students will enjoy recreational activities such as swimming, hiking, canoeing, campfire singing, and lawn sports (volleyball, Frisbee, soccer, etc.).
Applicants should have completed at least 2-years of prior music study and have a desire to intensively study and make music daily.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: DISCOUNTS:
* Eastman Community Music School students, enrolled both semesters 2016-2017, receive 10% tuition reduction.
*University of Rochester employees may apply for a Dependent Children Tuition Waiver, receiving 25% off tuition if eligible.
*New applicants who make the initial deposit prior to March 1st receive 10% tuition reduction.
*Returning students who are accepted receive 10% tuition reduction as members of the Eastman family.
SCHOLARSHIPS:
* Partial scholarships will be awarded based on merit. If you wish to apply for a scholarship, please submit a recording sample for audition purposes. Recording sample requirements are posted under “How to Apply.” Deadline for submission: April 1. Decisions announced very shortly after April 1.
