CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Founded in 2015, Camp Telaphiba is an overnight summer dance camp for boys and girls ages 7–18, bringing together dancers from across the country for an unforgettable experience in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
Camp Telaphiba founder, Lisa Pevateaux, had her own unforgettable experiences at an overnight summer dance camp as a teenager, and was inspired to recreate and share experiences like her own, for dancers from all over the world. With the Rocky Mountains as her backyard, Lisa decided that Snow Mountain Ranch in Grandby, CO would be the perfect place to set up camp.
Our philosophy is simple: Camp is about so much more than dance! We believe in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where campers build confidence, independence, lifelong friendships, and memories that last well beyond summer.
Our experienced team includes professional dance educators, dedicated camp counselors, experienced leadership, and on-site nursing staff. Many of our counselors are former Camp Telaphiba campers themselves! Our staff undergoes a comprehensive hiring and screening process, including background checks, fingerprinting, and training. Camp Telaphiba is a Colorado-licensed child care program.
Campers enjoy 4–6 dance classes daily, outdoor adventures, leadership and life-skills workshops, and opportunities to grow both as dancers and as individuals. Whether attending for the first time or returning year after year, every camper is encouraged to feel welcomed, supported, and part of our Camp T family.
Our goal is for every camper to return home stronger, more confident, and already dreaming about next summer!
CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership is an important part of the Camp Telaphiba experience at every age! Campers have opportunities to develop leadership skills through our buddy system, helping with camp setup, supporting younger campers, and taking on responsibilities throughout the week. Dancers entering their senior year of high school are awarded or can apply to become Counselors in Training (CITs), gaining hands-on experience and mentorship from our staff. After completing high school, CITs may have the opportunity to return as Camp Counselors, continuing their leadership journey at Camp T!
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Camp Telaphiba connects with dancers and dance studios throughout the year through studio visits, informational meetings, and special registration offers! We love visiting dance studios across the country to share the Camp T experience. Interested in having us visit your studio? Contact us to schedule a visit and learn about our special offers available throughout the year!
