BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Camp Nerden provides recreation for children and adults with Intellectual Disabilities for 7 weeks each summer. We recently celebrated our 50th summer and are always looking for more campers and volunteers. We are run on donations so that there is no direct charge to families. Contact us for more information.
SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Our camp is devoted to children and adults with special needs. The campers will join their group to experience the various activities and theme days that we have throughout the summer. Campers can attend all 7 weeks or any days/weeks that fit their schedule.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:

CAMP LOCATION: We are located next to Powder Ridge Ski Area on 15 acres of land in Middlefield, CT.
CAMP FACILITIES: We have 4 main buildings to do our activities as well as a newly renovated inground pool, a basketball court, and a shaded picnic area.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our camp started over 50 years ago to provide recreation for children and adults with Intellectual Disabilities. In addition to our Camp Directors and our Board of Directors we have staff that run each group and activity, as well as certified lifeguards and a nurse. We also have middle school and high school aged volunteers that help with each group and help our campers have an enjoyable camp experience.
