CAMPER AGES: Ages 6 to 18
TYPE OF CAMP: Day Camp. Free bereavement camp. Two locations this year! June 25-28 in the Temple/Muhlenberg area. August 6-9 on Route 10 between Flying Hills and Morgantown. Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
CAMPER GENDER(S): Coed Campers.
BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Free bereavement camp for children and teens ages 6-18 who have experienced the death of someone close to them. Camp Connect provides the opportunity, at no cost, for children and teens to:
• Be with others their own age who are also grieving
• Learn ways to identify and express painful emotions
• Develop new skills to cope with their loss
This four-day experience will be filled with fun activities, art, music, and games combined with grief education and emotional support. Specially trained volunteers and mental health professionals facilitate all camp activities.
SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Camp Connect provides the opportunity, at no cost, for children and teens to: • Be with others their own age who are also grieving • Learn ways to identify and express painful emotions • Develop new skills to cope with their loss
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
and more. The Camp Is Held Outdoors. We Offer Therapies Through Dance, Movement, Crafts, Playground Activities, & Interaction With Therapy Dogs.
CAMP LOCATION: Our camps are located at local playground/school/church areas.
June 25-28 in the Temple/Muhlenberg area.

Camp Connect is offered through Berks County
Intermediate Unit and is supported by a collaborative partnership from Berks County Mental Health /
Developmental Disabilities Program, Jan’s Circle of Friends, local hospice bereavement programs, social agencies, and therapy dogs.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: This camp is free for children and teens ages 6 to 18 who have experienced the death of someone close to them.
