Day Sailing Camp On The Upper West Side Of Manhattan.
CAMP LOCATION: We sail from the 79th Street Boat Basin Marina in Riverside Park on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The Boat Basin, dubbed the "Recreational Boating Gateway of New York City," is the ideal location to experience New York City by water. Located in Riverside Park and just across from the famous Boat Basin Cafe, the docks overlook the gorgeous Hudson River.
The Boat Basin is easily reached by all public and private transportation. We gather on the NW corner of West 79th Street and Riverside Drive each morning at 9am and walk through Riverside Park down to the docks as a group. If an earlier drop off is needed this can be arranged in advance.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: At our New York City Summer Sailing Program for Kids, students learn teamwork, planning and responsibility in an exciting and challenging atmosphere while at the same time discovering one of the world's oldest and most rewarding sports. Kids ages 9-15 learn to trim sails, tie knots and man the helm aboard modern sailboats. Our sailing curriculum, combined with our team and self esteem building activities, help young sailors to build confidence, bolster self-reliance, and fulfill their inner potential and have tons of fun while doing it!
