Computers, Math, Academics, and more. A* Summer Math Camp Is A Unique Opportunity For Interested & Talented Students To Improve Their Math Skills During Summer Time Where Students Are Guided & Trained By Utilizing National & International Competitions In A Fun & Challenging Environment.
CAMP LOCATION: Students may choose to be residential or day-campers.
A* Summer Math camp will be hosted at Santa Clara University (SCU). SCU is in the heart of the Silicon Valley, where major hi-tech companies such as Google and Apple are located. The university campus is very close to Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport. It takes only minutes to arrive at the campus from the airport.

Spacious residence halls provide two-bedroom suites occupying up to 4 guests with double or single options. Traditional dormitories are double occupancy rooms, sharing a semi-private hallway bathroom. The Marketplace is the main dining facility on campus. This central location with it's beautiful ambiance, and innovative menus welcomes students, staff, faculty and campus visitors with convenient hours 7 days a week. Exhibition cooking, a full service deli, local produce, sustainable seafood and vegan/vegetarian-conscious menus are just a few of the features.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Levels: There will be four levels at the camp: MathCounts/AMC-8, AMC10/12, AIME, and USAMO.
Curriculum: Each week will be devoted to one of the four main areas. The focus will be on Number Theory and Algebra/Analysis in Period-I and Geometry and Combinatorics in Period-II.
The students will be equipped with necessary background in lectures and trained with different types of problems to master various problem solving techniques. The classes are problem solving-based whose curriculum is aligned with prestigious national and international competitions. They provide a motivational and challenging environment for students.
Lectures are given by A* Faculty and other instructors who have participation and/or training experience in national/international Olympiads such as USA Math Olympiads (USAMO) and the International Math Olympiads (IMO).

OTHER CAMP INFO: Activities: In A* camps, activities are carefully selected, and we have four different types of activities that contribute to student improvement:
- Strategy, board, and math games to improve analytical reasoning, visual perception, and logical deduction
- Movies that are educational, instructional and motivating
- Outdoor sports and activities to improve the team spirit
- Math and science oriented team competitions
Field Trips: Educational/Entertaining field trips to places such as Bay Area, Stanford University, Exploratorium, Hi-Tech Companies.
CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
A* Summer Math Camp will consist of two 2-week long periods. It is possible to participate in either or both sessions. Both residential and day-camp options are available.
Period 1: June 30-July 14, 2013 (Number Theory and Analysis)
Period 2: July 14-28, 2013 (Geometry and Combinatorics)
