CAMP PROGRAM INFO: REG Camps:
REGular Camps are the core of what we do. Imagine seven action packed days of fun and learning at our main camp on the shores of Big Lake. Days are filled with excitement, challenge, reflection and loads of friends, both new and old. Campers experience the best of what Big Lake has done for over 50 years … creating fun and building kids.

RAD Camps:
Our teen campers love to focus on their favorite activities. RAD camps give them that opportunity. RAD camps allow for campers to focus in on one chosen activity for the entire week. Whether they are at Big Lake or camping in a small group at a remote location, RAD camps give teens the chance to develop significant skills.

Adventure Camp:
Adventure camp is designed to introduce younger children into the world of summer camping. The week is shorter and the pace is slower to make it more user-friendly for campers ages 7-9. Campers get a taste of all that camp has to offer.

Abba's Child:
Experiencing the loss of an immediate family member can be dramatic, tough and emotional. Abba’s Child Camps provide a safe place for grieving kids to receive support and acceptance. Our goal for Abba's Child is to offer a place where kids can meet others experiencing similar emotions, receive accepting support from professionals, and have a blast at camp.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: RAD to Staff:
Big Lake Youth Camp's RAD to Staff program is designed specifically for teens ages 15-17. As a RAD to Staff camper, teens are given special leadership training while experiencing one of our awesome RAD Camp activities alongside fellow campers. Through mentorship with a Big Lake Youth Camp staff member, RAD to Staff campers will develop valuable leadership skills and knowledge. Upon successful completion of the RAD to Staff program, campers will be given a certificate of achievement. If you are interested in working at Big Lake Youth Camp someday, participation in this program is recommended because it helps you see what it takes to work at Big Lake and it allows our staff to get to know you in a unique and important way.

CIT (Counselor in Training):
As a Counselor in Training you will be assigned to assist one of our amazing Big Lake counselors with their cabin of 7-9 year old campers. This camp will give you the incredible opportunity to observe and experience first-hand what is involved in being a camp counselor. The focus of this camp is learning what it takes to be a staff member in charge of supervising campers. We hope as a CIT you will learn skills that can be used throughout your life and enable you to work more effectively with children.

SIT (Staff in Training):
As a SUT you will have the opportunity to observe and try out a number of staff positions including instructor of land activities (examples: art, digital photography, drama, survival adventures), instructor of water activities (examples: swimming, canoeing, waterskiing), office/headquarters staff and maintenance staff. SITs are not able to observe camp counselors. Please sign up for the CIT camp if you would like to experience being a counselor. SIT campers are asked what type of job they are interested in, and they are able to try it out! WE hope this camp will help you learn life skills such as organization, work ethic, personability, and effective child communication. Have fun while you work side by side with Big Lake staff as your mentors.

WIT (Wrangler in Training):
Experience the fun of camp while learning what it would be like to work at Big Lake! As a Wrangler in Training you will have the opportunity to shadow and work with Big Lake’s awesome wranglers and beautiful horses. You will be able to assist Big Lake’s wranglers as they teach campers in our horsemanship program. If you are passionate about horses and are interested in working at Big Lake someday, this camp is a great fit for you because it allows our staff to get to know you and your skills! Please note that some basic horse experience is required for this camp.

*NOTE: Participation in the RAD to Staff, CIT, SIT and WIT programs does not guarantee a future position as a Big Lake Staff Member. However, participation is encouraged if you are interested in working at Big Lake Youth Camp because it helps you understand what it is like to work at Camp, it demonstrates your interest in working at Camp and it allows Big Lake's staff to get to know you and observe your skills and work ethic.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Campership Funds:
The Big Lake Youth Camp "Campership" Fund has been established by donations from campers, parents and other interested persons who want to see every child have an opportunity to attend Big Lake Youth Camp. Canyonview Camp and Ministries was founded in 1953 as Bible Teaching Inc. by Ernie and Fern Campbell. Ministries included radio broadcasting, a Bible college, a printing press, and finally a Christian camp. With each of these ministries, Canyonview's emphasis has been and always will be

“Speaking the Truth in Love."

Vision
Canyonview will continue as a trusted partner in the evangelical community to bring hope and healing to a hurting world through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Mission
With a biblical foundation, Canyonview provides a safe outdoor environment, spiritually vibrant programs, and practical leadership training to impact youth, adults, and families in the local community and beyond.

Our Programs
Day camps provide local churches with full programs for elementary school children as well as skilled, caring counselors, nutritious snacks, Bible times, songs, and an entertaining evening for families.Youth camps promote the knowledge of God through His creation, hands-on activities, Bible instruction, and loving counselors.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: YEA Camp is a unique and inspiring leadership summer camp for youth 12-17 who care about community service, activism and social justice. A week-long sleep-away program in a beautiful camp location, YEA is designed to be a fun and transformative experience that builds life-long friendships between youth with similar interests. Our program also provides a meaningful opportunity for campers to learn more about some of the issues facing our planet and to get inspired and empowered to take action on those issues.

Campers choose an issue of importance to them (for example, some have chosen climate change, racism, homophobia, homelessness, animal rights) and at YEA they build the knowledge, skills, confidence, and community to take action on that issue long after camp is over.

Youth who have participated in our programs report that the camp was one of the most fun, rewarding and life-changing experiences they have had, and, with YEA's community support, have gone on to start school clubs, plan fundraisers for nonprofits, organize community clean-ups, and attend hearings to comment about important community issues.

Our camps and programs are offered locally throughout over 500 communities. The format includes traditional week-long summer day camps and year-round after-school programs that range from 45 minutes to 6 hours in duration, per day. Our progression of camps and programs, led by our expert staff, are generated toward youth looking for a sport introduction or those who want to refine and master their sport-specific skills.

For Detailed Information on ALL of our summer sports camps, please visit our website at This Website Link.

Our coaches and site directors make a significant difference to your childs on-field experience. Chosen for their strong personal character, responsibility, and capacity to effectively communicate sports skills to youth, our staff will make the extra effort every time to ensure that your children have the best on-field/court experience, emphasize teamwork, and learn life skills through sports. Our staff are required to complete our extensive certification process.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Skyhawks Sports Camps are SAFETY FOCUSED!

At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called Gate System and Parking Lot Duty. This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harms way by funneling them into our gate system. Eye contact is maintained from each one of our staff members until the kids make it onto the field/court where they are grouped by age. This efficient process ensures safety. Additionally, it develops a level of trust between parent, coach, and child that ultimately leads to a fun and skill-focused camp for youth.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Skyhawks Sports Camps are offered throughout the summer, and specific dates and times vary from location to location.
