A golden globe has been buried somewhere on earth – and it contains the key to a safe deposit box holding a $10,000 college scholarship fund. Participants who complete an hour of online summer learning activities each day will unlock secret animated webisodes that hold the clues to the globe’s whereabouts. Guess the treasure’s location first, and you’ll be the one on a plane to dig it up.

We have a recreation/dining hall, craft room, garden, lake for canoeing/kayaking and fishing, pool for swimming, and garden.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Wyandot, Inc. was founded as a Camp Fire Council in 1913. In 1928, the council became an Ohio nonprofit corporation and purchased Camp Wyandot in the Hocking Hills. As of April 31, 2013, Camp Wyandot, Inc. became an independent organization and is no longer affiliated with Camp Fire.

Today, Camp Wyandot serves boys and girls with summer day and overnight camps and our Wyandot Explorers Club program.
Camp Wyandot provides an inclusive nurturing environment for youth to have fun, make friends, serve others, and explore the great outdoors.

Young people are interdependent with the natural world, yet know relatively little about it through direct experience. Through our overnight and day camp programs, we encourage development of natural senses and provide an intimate connection with nature while youth learn leadership, cooperation with others, and community responsibility while building self-awareness and forming friendships.

Camp Wyandot Overnight and Day Camps are offered during the summer for youths of all ages and include activities such as outdoor skills, camp outs, creeking, hiking, crafts, swimming/swimming lessons, kayaking/canoeing, archery, and special themed programs. We offer leadership programs at both our overnight and day camps. Currently, our day camp program is held at Highbanks Metro Park. We have American Camp Association (ACA) Accreditation which means that Camp Wyandot has undergone a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of its operation — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management.

Camp Wyandot’s overall goal is to provide a quality experience that builds competencies and creates positive life-long memories in a safe and supportive environment.

In an inclusive, engaging, and challenging environment, youth will:

-Increase their social and cultural competencies and feel a sense of belonging
-Develop leadership, teamwork, and cooperation skills
-Increase self-confidence, independence and empowerment
-Plan, make choices, reflect and learn from their decisions
-Build a life-long appreciation and respect for the outdoor environment
-Develop a sense of respect, responsibility and contribution to their community
-Be involved in rich group experiences that are inherently interesting and fun
-Be recognized for their accomplishments

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: A CIT (counselor in training) is a camper enrolled in a specialized leadership program which is designed to build up behavior management, risk management/safety awareness, communication, decision making, team building, and interdependency within a community.

The program aims to utilize this combination of skills to develop effective future leaders. A CIT should gain not only greater confidence and sense of accomplishment, but also a variety of skills and knowledge that will help them develop as competent leaders in all walks of life, not just a camp setting. The program accepts a limited number of applicants per session.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Payment assistance/camperships available. Application deadline April 15.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Fourth of July Family Celebration - Join in a special family camp program with your whole family in your own cabin. An assigned counselor will help with scheduling and leading activities. During the day and the evening of the 4th of July, there will be a special celebration for the whole camp.

The cost for Family Camp is $45.00 per person which includes two nights lodging and 4 meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and breakfast on Saturday). Children age 3 and under are free.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Wyandot Explorer Club Program is community based and volunteer run arranged by age and geographical location. Wyandot Explorers build on four explorer categories: Community Exploration, Self-Exploration, Environmental and Science Exploration, and Creative Exploration. Clubs meet during the school year and we provide the training, the framework, the materials, and the support for each club. A volunteer adult leader guides, coaches, and supervises the club’s progress which differ depending on age.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: About the Highbrook Camp Program:

Our philosophy is simple: All people have abilities and our mission is to enable children and adults to realize their full potential through the recreation activities at Highbrook.

Safety is paramount to this mission. Our leader screening includes a criminal background check through the Ohio Bureau of Criminal investigation. All staff participates in a week-long orientation with sessions about sighted guide techniques, accessibility for people who are blind and visually impaired, and CPR and First Aid certification. Emergency drill training and procedures include weather, fire, injury, and lost camper. Children are always supervised by counselor teams, and attendance is taken several times daily. We have a resident Registered Nurse to dispense medication and carry out physician-ordered treatments for conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and glaucoma, to address possible emergencies, and to educate about wellness. Geauga County Hospital is literally within walking distance. Each year we communicate with the sheriff, fire, and police departments in the area to announce our summer arrival. We are grateful for their service and assistance in maintaining a very safe environment at Highbrook Lodge.

We ask to be partners with parents in our efforts to provide a safe camp experience for their children. Our application provides ample space to provide information related to a child’s special needs including vision, behavior, health, and diet. Please be as thorough and complete with information as possible. No tidbit is too trivial when a child becomes homesick, displays anxiety or anger, or has difficulty ‘fitting’ in. In the event of injury or incidents we call home to ask your advice and inform you of any unusual circumstances.  When you arrive to pick up your child at the end of their camp session our goal is that you will not have any surprises about their care.

Our program for children is structured and progressive. Our day begins at 7:00 A.M. and progresses through meals, 3- 6 activity periods depending on age group, evening program, and cabin time. Our campers are kept busy and active throughout the day and usually are ready for bed at night.  Our activities and procedures are based on traditional camp experiences to instill confidence and build self-esteem, enable peer support and getting along with others in a diverse world, and trying new things and mastering old skills. Campers are challenged to be as independent as possible, make decisions about activities, make choices in their day, help others, and be active.

Every effort is taken to help a child have a successful camp experience, but we will not force a child to endure a full session if they are overwhelmed by homesickness or other anxiety.

From time to time children and teens test the limits of authority and disciplinary actions need to be imposed. Highbrook Lodge staff will first discuss and correct inappropriate behavior. If behavior is not corrected (and it most often is) and depending on the situation, a child may receive a brief time-out from an activity (never sent to their cabin or away from the group), a loss of privilege such as the camp store, or a proactive assignment such as providing extra help during cabin clean-up (but never to clean the cabin alone, for example). Corporal punishment, cabin hazing, initiations and the like are forbidden at Highbrook Lodge and should be reported immediately to the Camp Director if reported by a camper to their parents. We ask parents to discuss the golden rule with children prior to coming to camp and reinforce their need to listen and obey, get along with others, ask permission from their counselors, mind their manners, and respect others’ person and property.

Campers will be sent home for threatening physical or verbal behavior toward others, inappropriate or sexual advances, bringing alcohol, illicit drugs,  weapons, or offensive materials to camp, refusing to participate or follow directions, stealing, or destruction of property.

Registration for Highbrook Lodge is required. Applications are requested no later than June 1st. As sessions tend to fill rapidly, applications are accepted on a first-come first serve basis.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Financial aid application is available in camp registration packet.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: At our Ellicott City camps we only accept serious players with previous competitive soccer experience. Every year talented players attend our camps and challenge each other to the limit, growing in skill and experience. A number of our campers have experienced training trials with professional clubs in Holland.

Our programs are designed to help players achieve their maximum potential through progressive exercises that are individually challenging, as well as appropriate to the age and ability of each player.

We fly in our coaches directly from the Netherlands. They are not merely coaches: they are also teachers. Many of our coaches have graduated from a four- year CIOS College. At the Central Institution of Sports, coaches not only received their coaching licenses from the global leader in soccer development: KNVB (Royal Dutch Soccer Federation) but also learn how to work with, encourage and incentivize young athletes.

Every camp group will have the same Dutch coach for the entire week. Our coaches will get to know each of the players in their group and can coach them individually, assessing their needs and improving the specific areas best for them.

For more information i.e. camp location, camp dates, camp philosophy, . . . . Visit our website at This Website Link or email us at info[AT]dutchsoccerschool.com with any questions or concerns regarding your player.

Theater, Fine Arts/Crafts, Basketball, Soccer, Horses/Equestrian, Swimming, Tennis, Waterfront/Aquatics, Sailing, Team Sports, Wilderness/Nature, and more.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers live in one of 16 cabins with indoor bathrooms and showers, eat in the dining hall, attend activities at the pavilion, stables, archery or riflery range, basketball, tennis, or volleyball court, softball field, waterfront with swim side and boat harbor, and more!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Widely recognized throughout the midwest as Ohio's premier summer camp since 1959, Falcon Camp offers a beautiful lakefront setting, a talented experienced staff and a wide variety of activities. Falcon provides an atmosphere that encourages young people to grow in spirit, skills, understanding, relationships, and attitudes. Fun for Now, Skills for Life is not just a catchy logo phrase but truly defines what Falcon is about.

Camp is designed for boys and girls ages 6 - 16 in 2,4,6 or 8 week sessions. Each day campers choose their own schedule within a general framework.

Daily activities are separate for boys and girls with planned coed events. Riding, sailing, swimming, riflery, crafts, tennis, drama, archery, mountain biking and so many more activities are offered. Instruction from beginner to advanced is offered in each activity.

We have a strong reputation for making sure a camper's first overnight experience is very positive. Our non-competitive environment is inviting to campers who may be hesitant to try something they have never done before, while our awards system challenges our most experienced campers.

The 1:4 staff/camper ratio allows individual instruction and attention. Most of all it's great fun!

Falcon also has a special Young Adventure program for campers ages 6 -9. These one week intro sessions are designed for first time campers. ACA accredited, many NE Ohio references are available along with campers from all over the United States and the world. Being so close to several major cities allows families to visit beforehand, meet staff and feel "at home" prior to attending.

Falcon is an outstanding opportunity for fun and learning. A summer at Falcon is a special experience where good things happen by design. Visit our website at This Website Link, call 800-837-CAMP or email Info[AT]FalconCamp.com for more information. Located on Leesville Lake in Carrollton Ohio.

CAMP FACILITIES: Red Oak Camp offers many different outdoor activities. There is a pond for fishing and canoeing, a swimming pool, playing fields, recreation building, wood shop, a nature study center, and large pavilion. We have indoor and outdoor climbing walls, high ropes courses, and a zip line.

At the nearby Holden Arboretum, campers are introduced to the woods where they learn about our delicate ecology. Campers take numerous hikes, practice bird and leaf identification, collect rocks for their collections, and search the streams for frogs and crayfish.

Girls in our Chincapin Equestrian program also get to take advantage of our second property that includes a Barn, riding areas, and 13 horses. Riding lessons focuses on English style riding, safety, an appreciation of the sport, good riding form, and horse care.

Campers in our Red Oak Teen Travel Camp use our cabin area as their base camp before they take off on adventures that might include backpacking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, canoeing, and more.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Red Oak Camp has a rich history as a premier camp for adventure trips and travel programming. We are excited to again offer these exciting opportunities for summer 2014. Throughout all of our trips, campers will have the time of their lives. They’ll participate in a range of activities, including whitewater rafting, climbing, backpacking, caving, canoeing, mountain biking, and more. They will build skills and confidence to help them through high school and college and contribute to their future success!

The Red Oak program is exemplary at serving our mission, of building our campers’ inner strengths though outdoor adventure. Campers will spend two full weeks with us. The first week will be spent at Red Oak “base camp” in Kirtland. Here they’ll develop the outdoor skills, leadership, self-confidence, and perseverance that will help them be successful during the second week of the program. In week two, campers will put those skills to use on adventures in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New York, or Kentucky–adventures they will remember always. Adventures that will foster life-long friendships.

Red Oak maintains a unique outdoor educational philosophy in which campers get to design their own experience. The camper day is divided between Campers Choice and Open Activities, with some special programs thrown in throughout the week.

Campers Choice is where are staff are able to provide progressive experiential education. Campers sign up for the areas that most excite them and participate in them throughout the week. Camper’s Choice activities include high adventure, canoeing/kayaking, fishing, wood shop, sports, outdoor survival and fire building, target sports, and more.

Open Activities is when our staff gets to be a bit more creative and offer programs that allow campers to try a little bit of everything (and hopefully some things that they haven’t yet tried). Open Activities may include activities such as tomahawk throwing, paintball slingshots, arts and crafts, crate stacking, double ball, creek stomping, orienteering and much more.

Additionally, each week of the summer will have a theme. Both Camper’s Choice and Open Activities often get tailored to match the theme of the week and special programs will occur, culminating in a large “all camp” activity on Friday. Campers are encouraged to dress the part and bring supplies to fit each theme.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: RED OAK JUNIOR COUNSELOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (JCLP)
For young men and women ages 13-16.

This program focuses on training young men and women in leadership, safety, and service. The goal is to create responsible young counselors who may be able to work at our camp, or gain the experience necessary to work at other camps with Red Oak’s recommendation.

This program is perfect for former Red Barn or Chincapin campers, who want to continue a camp experience and prepare for a leadership role. The skills gained through JCLP will help carry Junior Counselors through high school, college, and beyond.

JCLP is a mixture of fun and learning. Participants have a chance to be campers, and work to master Red Oak’s many activities, such as archery, canoeing, climbing and high adventure, fishing, outdoor cooking, nature/science, and riflery. JCLP participants will also get the chance to work with our staff to learn risk management, age and social characteristics, First Aid, songs and games, and much more.

JCLP participants must sign up for a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks, but are welcome to sign up for up to 7 weeks.

COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT)
For young men and women ages 15-17*.

This program is for the camper who is serious about becoming a camp counselor. CITs will be invited to attend parts of pre-camp training, with all of the camp staff, and then select 2 weeks to return to camp to complete their internship. One week of the internship will be as a general counselor, followed by one week in the area of their choosing. After successful completion, participants may be asked to return to help for additional weeks of camp.

CIT Participants are required to register as well as fill out the Staff Application and acquire 3 References.

*Graduates of the JCLP/CIT programs are the only 17-year-old and younger applicants who will be considered for employment. All other applicants must be 18 years old or older.

We offer many different different sports--and countless ways for your child to grow. The camps range from soccer to baseball to our popular mulit-sport camps where kids sample three different sports (soccer, basketball and baseball) in one camp.

Our camps and programs are offered locally throughout over 500 communities. The format includes traditional week-long summer day camps and year-round after-school programs that range from 45 minutes to 6 hours in duration, per day. Our progression of camps and programs, led by our expert staff, are generated toward youth looking for a sport introduction or those who want to refine and master their sport-specific skills.

For Detailed Information on ALL of our summer sports camps, please visit our website at This Website Link.

Our coaches and site directors make a significant difference to your childs on-field experience. Chosen for their strong personal character, responsibility, and capacity to effectively communicate sports skills to youth, our staff will make the extra effort every time to ensure that your children have the best on-field/court experience, emphasize teamwork, and learn life skills through sports. Our staff are required to complete our extensive certification process.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Skyhawks Sports Camps are SAFETY FOCUSED!

At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called Gate System and Parking Lot Duty. This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harms way by funneling them into our gate system. Eye contact is maintained from each one of our staff members until the kids make it onto the field/court where they are grouped by age. This efficient process ensures safety. Additionally, it develops a level of trust between parent, coach, and child that ultimately leads to a fun and skill-focused camp for youth.
